the steward says there's been an incident recently, is there a quest i have to do or something?

if so where do I start it?

anyone want to shed any light on this?

do I just wait liek 3 days?

I just kinda stumbled into it when I entered... if I recall, it's called "Blood on the Ice", it's a murder mystery thing.

go to the graveyard there, that's where I first remember really starting it... I followed the rumors around town to there if I recall, then did the chain, I think that was what opened up the house.... actually I know it was

You need to do the quest Blood on the Ice first... go to the graveyard in town after dark to trigger it :wink_smile:

Oh and a word of advice about the house (called Hjarim)...

...When you eventually *do* buy it AND you are able to purchase improvements for it (and I will not explain further as so not to make this reply a spoiler) purchase the 'clean up' improvement ONLY... then actually visit the house... and only THEN can you safely purchase any other improvements... this will save you from experiencing all manner of annoying bugs in Hjarim.

okay Im level 37 have finished every big questline and have not seen the murder outside the hall of the dead, is it glitched? (also I sided with imperials)

If it doesn't work, then like many of us (including myself) it's probably just glitched. I think mine is because Viola Giordano is nowhere to be found. I think in mine she may have been killed by a dragon.

The windhelm butcher quest glitch better be one of the first quest they fix cause now people who are affected by the glitch cant get the best house in the game. :banghead:
