cant delete cells in CK?

Post » Tue Jun 19, 2012 1:44 pm

ok, so im working through the tutorials - which by the way are GREAT - kudos to all involved, and thankyou for supporting a community which loves to modify / develop content to create further immesive experiences within your games.

that said - I'm experiencing a minor issue, and im not sure if its a bug, by design, or just due to my inexperience with this toolset.

when using the creation kit - and after duplicating an erroneous cell, it seems whilst the option to delete the cell exists, and to an extent works (the cell itself is marked with a *D and all its objects cleared) but its never removed from the cell object list, even after closing the creation kit and reloading the plugin.

can anyone confirm if this is a bug, or is there a step im missing ?

I'm not sure if the D is there as marking an object for deletion for the current session, or if it's a way of marking 'removed' content. As in, let's say your mod wanted to remove a cell from the game that's in the original esm. Does someone know how this works?

Either way, you can use TESVSnip to edit your esp.

The only way I was able to remove a cell that I had modifed was by using TESVSnip - found here - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=5064 and deleting the offending cell(s) ..

The same thing occurs in Oblivion. Test it first, delete something, then save and reload the esp. In Oblivion D was to inform the CS to delete the entry on save. It appears that the CK doesnt do this for some odd reason.

Edit, re-read your comment, you have tried re-saving. Sounds like a bug in the CK.

You can delete cells using the CK as well. File - Data - Select esp file with offending cell - Details - Sort by name - locate cell - hit delete - OK (will see an I next to the cell) - save and reload CK

Worked for me.
