The general consensus is that players who, like me, are more used to Bethesda style games (ES series) tend to enjoy Fallout 3 more. On the other hand, fans of the original Fallout enjoy NV more, as it is more similar to those games.

I like New Vegas a lot more than Fallout 3. A good reason why is that It makes me think in a depressing kind of way, and I don't like that happening. However, the atmosphere really looked similar of a nuclear holocaust. Still, I don't think I'll be switching back to Fallout 3 because of of what I said before and that I have lots to do before I'll be able to switch back. But, Fallout 3 did kept me busy for a while, and it was super fun to play.
