I tried to load from my recent saved game, failure tells me game stopped responding

Then tried to load the auto save as that was next on list...Nope game stopped responding

This goes on a few more times and on the 6th save spot I can load however now I am way back in time where I dont want to be as I have already done so much after that.

Is there a fix to this ?

Have you enabled or disabled any mods since the game last worked?

I dont use mods I play the game the way it was meant to be played all natural lol

I have the caravan pack that came with the game though not sure if that has anything to do with it seeing as how only the top 5 saves dont work but 6th does.

Any other ideas, I am up for any input anyone has cause starting practically 5 hours back doesnt appeal to me.

Also I have learned that anytime I save now after the 6th slot loads or any slot for that matter everything I save after that wont load and it says falloutNV has stopped responding.

So basically nothing I save works >.< I am asking for a possible fix to this or is anyone else experiencing this issue.

I am starting to think that the Autosave features on this game are problematical, more so than usual. In the past (FO3 and Oblivion) the Autosaves would corrupt for some people but for this game it seems to be happening more often.

What probably happened with you, is at some point along the way, you loaded an Autosave that was gettting dodgy but would still load, several Autosaves later, bam. Of course by then you have been making Manual saves too, but those carried over the issues from the Autosave.

So, I hate to say it, but you will have to go back to Save #6 and use that. But, turn off all the Autosave features so you don't get this issue again. Also, avoid overwriting a save slot more than 10 or so times before you create a new one. Also, cycle through a series of slots as you go along. You can always delete excess saves later on. I have 149 slots on my 45 hour (so far) first character.

I am sad to say that if this game is gonna be this much trouble its not worth my time but sadly it has taken up alot of my time as is.

I can handle bugs but things that make me start the game over for the 5th time is something I cant handle, I am patient but its been pushed.

That 6th spot loads but everything after that spot wont save so I aint sure how far back I would have to go, dissappointing the game is truly fantastic but its totally unplayable.

Though unplayable is a loose term as some have already beaten it but I think you get the idea.

I might give it one more shot because I dont mind a lil torture I really want the game to work for me but dammit I swear lol its getting to me

Well I narrowed it down even more

This saving issue occurs right after I help the bright brotherhood launch the rockets, after that any save I do becomes an issue and wont load saying FalloutNV stopped responding.

So even if I load a prior save spot that works it will cause something to happen after the rockets are launched.

Anymore ideas or tips,

Yeah- there's two very long threads on this topic. Save game corruption- no way to recover corrupt save at this point. Even after it is patched there probably won't be a way to recover pre-patch corrupted saves.

The other place it seems to occur for some people is in Vault 3 so be careful there too.
