Cant wait for this game!

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 8:15 am

I actually had taken one of those 'Death Clocks', and started it a few weeks back to the arrival date of Fallout 4.

Now when I turn my computer on at home, it shows me how long I have to wait. Its getting a smaller number each time!

But then I realised I want to replace my computer between now and then. Damn problems :)

I'm excited. It doesn't have the same magic the hype for an Elder Scrolls game brings, but it looks like a good game nontheless.

Very hyped, to me this feels like a pure blood Bethesda Fallout, unlike 3 which was good, but it was hampered by Beth clearly thinking to much about trying to appease fans of the 90s originals (which to varid degrees failed)

With 4 there is a much clearer confidence, a game made for themselves that they wish to sell to us.

Agreed, looks like they're now comfortable enough to give us their own vision of Fallout.

Doc Mitchell: "You're slow to accept new ideas."

Fallout community: "Strongly agree"

At least all the DLC would already be out and it would be cheap on Steam by then.

On the bright side, it's only 16 weeks, 10 hours and 15 minutes (as of this posting) until we can play it. :)

My new computer with its super advanced space laser computation machinery seems to actually run Fallout 3 -worse- than my previous machine. Its still playable, not that big of a deal, but it seems that the Capital Wasteland is reaching the end of its days. Its not quite to the level where I want to emulate a Windows XP install just so I can play Fallout 3, maybe it'll be like that in five years when ive scheduled my next computer upgrade, but eh, I'm sure ill be happy inside the Commonwealth and maybe trying out a Tamrielic home by 2020.

You know, as much as I love Fallout 3, this is absolutely true. Fallout 4 seems a lot more like a original game than a reboot, and I welcome it.

I can't wait for mods to fix Bethesda's dumbing down.

I can't wait to play the game to see what, if anything, really needs fixing.

I want mods to expand upon things. I wonder how hard it will be to learn the scripting language for Fallout 4. I have a mod idea already and I am not familiar with Creation engine scripting. I'm not even sure if I can get my idea off of the ground. Long before I start that though, I am going to play through the game a couple of times.

You could try implementing your idea into Fallout 3 or New Vegas, there's plenty of time until Fallout 4 is released.

I definitely can't wait, I may have some reservations about certain features but those negatives are Trumped by The positives. Nov 10th can't get here soon enough, I know I'm going to pull a Cartman eventually. :fallout:

Although some of the (rumored) tweeks to skill points (not having them) and switching entirely to a perk based system worries me, I like that Bethesda consistently pushes out titles that improve on the previous. I liked Skyrim more than Oblivion (and I REALLY liked Oblivion), and I think I'll like this game more than either F3 or NV. Bethesda is one of the few companies that I know will make steady progress in the quality of their games. Of course, I also know we'll encounter at least one game-breaking bug, but that's the price of having an open world and a deadline.

Constantly pushing out titles but not CoD constantly as in every year lol

They actually take their time to improve the experience.

You may want to study Skyrim's Creation Engine and the new (for the CE) Papyrus scripting language. FO4 will use some tweaked version of Papyrus since it's still an upgraded, next-gen Creation Engine. If your mod is only a general concept (e.g., some type of game mechanic tweak), it could probably fit into Elder Scrolls as well as Fallout. Or perhaps you could adapt the idea to fantasy from sci-fi (e.g., a change to energy weapons adapted to a change to magic).

I can't wait either, bu what's worse is that I'm super busy IRL and still haven't finished Skyrim despite 900+ hours. I really have to finish Skyrim before FO4 launches or I'm doomed =/

I have finished everything but Dragonborn about 5 times. Played many more characters that I've since abandoned. I want to finish Dragonborn just once before it all wraps up. I also have the goal of breaking 2,000 hours before November 10. Because once Fallout 4 hits the proverbial shelves (Steam pre-order here) I don't think Skyrim is going to see much of me.

If it helps, keep in mind that no one ever really finishes a BGS game because they are not intended to be a "start to finish" sort of product. They are intended to simply be exploration. The quests are only offered as excuses to explore various places but many people never do any (or many except tutorial) in BGS games. It's safe to say that most of us do not finish the main quest because we aren't interested in playing a BGS game for the quests as that isn't the focus.

In contrast, if I play a Japanese story- and character-driven game, I will certainly be following it from start to finish unless I lose interest. :D

I've spent more time than I can remember playing Fallout 3, across 8 different characters, or more.... and if I boot it up, I still find new areas.
