[REQ] Cape Textures

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 6:55 am

Hey,

I am planning to make a mod based around capes. Specifically, I want to award the player with a cape upon reaching level 100 in any skill, becoming the guildmaster of any guild, or becoming the Nerevarine.
The capes will probably have scripted enchantments. If possible I will make them act as robes, as that seems to make the most sense, but I'm still looking into this (previously they took the shirt slot). I am using HopperFly621's physiqued cape mesh.

That's my idea, but I'm not so good at image editing, so I was hoping someone could make the textures for me. Obviously you will be credited :)

I will need one texture for each cape (I think), and, if possible, some icons as well, but I can do them if needs be. I don't think it should be too complicated, as once you have a "base" texture you can just change the colour of it and paste on some design to make each cape (probably the skill logos found http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Skills). Here is a list of all the capes, with a few design ideas by me (by no means final):

Spoiler
Nerevarine Cape - Grey with gold Moon-and-Star (a bit like http://www.impactrubberflooring.co.uk/product_images/1250598390_t.jpg colour scheme)
Fighters' Guild Cape - Red with the http://images.uesp.net/f/f7/Fighters_guild_sign.jpg
Mages' Guild Cape - Blue with a green http://images.uesp.net/a/a6/Mages_guild_sign.jpg (or green with a purple logo)
Thieves' Guild Cape - Yellow with a black http://images.uesp.net/f/f5/Thief.jpg
House Capes - Red, yellow and brown, with the House sigil
Acrobatics Cape -
Alchemy Cape -
Alteration Cape -
Armorer Cape -
Athletics Cape -
Axe Cape -
Block Cape -
Blunt Weapon Cape -
Conjuration Cape -
Destruction Cape -
Enchant Cape -
Hand-to-hand Cape -
Heavy Armor Cape -
Illusion Cape -
Light Armor Cape -
Long Blade Cape -
Marksman Cape -
Medium Armor Cape -
Mercantile Cape -
Mysticism Cape -
Restoration Cape -
Security Cape -
Short Blade Cape -
Sneak Cape -
Spear Cape -
Speechcraft Cape -
Unarmored Cape -

Feel free to chip in with any other cape ideas, and please let me know if you're interested in helping with the textures!

Thanks a lot,

Danjb

Neat idea. Inspired by Assassin's Creed, perhaps?

It was the latter, partly, but really it was a combination of ideas. I thought it would be nice to have some sort of reward for maxing out a skill, and I also thought it would be nice to have some capes in the game, so I just put the two ideas together. I did get the idea of capes from Runescape, but not actually from the skill capes that exist now on that game.

Well, the House capes should be easy enough. Red, yellow and brown, with the House sigil. Like the thing in my avatar for Telvanni.

Good call :)

I've never actually become head of a house myself, so I'll have to do some research on that when I'm deciding how the player gets given their capes.

So, it's been a while... I've been a bit pre-occupied with Skyrim, among other things, as I'm sure have a lot of people...

but does anyone have a sudden urge to make some cape textures for me? :D
