Capes and Multiplayer

No competitive multiplayer, no co-op. Zip. Nada.

Capes on the other hand, sure, why not?

Multiplayer would completely and utterly ruin this franchise. Without question.

Neither.

Multiplayer games are a different genre. I'm not even convinced that an AI companion is a good idea.

Capes are just eye-candy that add nothing to the game - just complexity to the animation. If there's spare capacity in the animation department, let's have combat wounding instead (limping, for example), or weapons bouncing off armor, or something else that adds realism.

I think the game should be made like a single player game, with possible co-op. Keeps everyone happy.

Capes would be pretty cool, especially if proper physics could be applied to them. As for the multiplayer, that's a definite no for me.

Designing a game to be multiplayer can often ruin the single player experience. I'd rather it just be Singleplayer only.

Capes would be pretty cool. As for multiplayer, hmm, I'm cool with a small CoOp sort of thing.

Adding like 4-player co-op would make this game awesome, i have 3 friends who refuse to buy strictly single player games "cuz its lame" ([censored] morons). Regardless though i'll be buying it no matter what though.

I say yes, but on under certain circumstances. I don't want it to be an MMO at all. But I would like it if you could free roam and kill things with friends, maybe some online quests. But that would be all.

No, just a waste of valuable time of perfection on the single player. There is a Two Worlds 2 coming out. You can play that for your RPG multiplayer fix.

No to Multiplayer as that has ruined so many games plus I'd rather have that space used for more important things like more weapons or Armor or more annoying characters like the Annoying Fan.

Multiplayer can't help but seriously dilute the quality of the singleplayer experience. So no.

I would definitely like to see capes in Skyrim; it gives some sets of armour a better look.

Multiplayer in Skyrim is something that I would prefer not to have, as it is not necessary and I would prefer Bethesda to focus on the Single Player.

I think ESV would be a great game for co-op. It would be so amazing to go dungeon crawling with a few friends. My preferred co-op type would be similar to Saint's Row 2, where when you join a friend in their game, it doesn't affect your quests, however you still keep all the loot and XP you gain.

Those who want a strictly single player game can play alone without any co-op influence, but those who want co-op can play it.

Except you'd be way overpowered (not that you aren't anyway)

Instead of having one god in a dungeon you'd have 2-4 gods

It would really make things way too easy and it would just be silly to have even just two people playing co-op.

I posted this on another thread but a Moderator redirected me here.

Elder Scrolls is not designed to be 2 player or an MMO because not only would it ruin many aspects of the game they would also not be able to make them as large and beautiful as they are.
So no if Elder Scrolls was ever made 2 player co-op, or an MMO I would not play it although I would enjoy taking your character into the Arena and fighting other peoples characters with bets for Gold/Loot.

Capes would be a very nice expansion as long as the models and textures are well made and the option for putting a hood on or off is present without another item necessary.

This, for gameplay reasons like what jjleon said and for the fact that just "tossing in" co-op is not as easy as everyone seems to think it is. It takes a lot of time away from developing and refining the single player aspects of the game.

The cloaks from Daggerfall were pretty cool, and I'd love to have something like that implemented into the game.

I would NOT like to see multi-player though.

There has not been an Elder Scrolls game to feature multiplayer since 1997 (Battlespire featured coop mode for quests and versus/battle mode). I feel it is time for a new multiplayer Elder Scrolls it has been over 13 years since Battlespire. Skyrim needs a solid multiplayer component. Nothing that will influence the main game or storyline. But a separate mode where players can battle against each other in an arena or in other levels (maybe in small enclosed towns and buildings).

I thought that Red Dead Redemption would have had a bigger impact on the minds of the gaming community. In The Elder Scrolls, like RDR, there would be a single player game. That's a given. However, the multiplayer experience could be as follows; You roam around the map, without the story NPCs and quests from the single player game. Instead you have free-roam PVP and missions/tasks. This is perfect for TES. Simply perfect. That's how it works in Red Dead Redemption and that's how it could work for any definitively "single-player" game.

Why would you guys veto the option of multiplayer? A lot of us would really love to play multiplayer, if you don't want multiplayer, then play by yourself. Why can't you just let those who actually want a multiplayer function in the game have one available? You think that with today's technology, they can't make the game as good if they add in a multiplayer option? I've been wanting to play the elder scrolls multiplayer since I first got Morrowind, and now Bethesda is finally considering the idea. I really hope they add in mutiplayer, why should I have to pop in Halo to play with my friends when I can play with them on Skyrim?
