Capes?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 11:53 am

Oblivion was the first TES game I owned and I was disappointed when I couldn't find any capes. So I was wondering, will there be capes in Skyrim?

No, no capes. Only cloaks!

Plus there is concept art showing characters wearing cloaks, so there is a chance.

For realism it makes sence that we will have cloaks. I mean they will help keep us warm and conceal weapons and plus they look cool. lol :D

lots of people have been requesting cloaks for years, hopefully beth has included them.
If they have cloth physics then chances are yes if not than most likely not.

Capes? Superman wears a cape. Darth Vader wears a cape. My 6 year old cousin wears a cape.

Cloaks? Absolutely. I'd be all for it.

High ranking Roman soldiers also wore capes! Capes are fine, also hooded capes, good call. Cloaks also. The problem with cloaks compared with capes is they have sleeves. Some players may not want a cloak covering there armour, so a cape would be an excellent alternative.

If not, hopefully cloth physics so that modders can add it in... I was never into the stiff cloaks that were available in MW and OB

I would also like it if you could get a good dusguise/ranger style hooded cloak that would conceal your face if your notoriety was high for walking past guards into towns, or approaching bandits etc. They would come up and give you a little shove and take the piss out of ya, until you whip your cloak off and bust some moves on their ass!

since we won't be near missiles, or jet planes or express elevators or vortexes its safe to say caps and cloaks are a MUST.

Cloaks don't have sleeves. They are unstructured. The reason cloaks are better than capes are because cloaks can be worn to look like caps or over the shoulders if you want but they can also have a hood. Capes are limited to the back or to the side.

I personally don't think cloaks are going to be in. They weren't there in Morrowind or Oblivion, and because I don't want to get my hopes up, I'll just assume that nothing will have changed. If they have been added though then it would be a nice surprise. But I don't think Bethesda are going to add them unless they have some sort of cloth simulator incorporated into the engine.

Well the guys on stage at the VGAs were wearing cloaks and hoods, if that's any indication at all.

How will the arrow sticking of you look if there are capes? I wonder if Havok Behaviour & Cloth are good enough to dynamically display cloth nailed to something (Would be fun if they make it possible to nail a cape to a wall :woot:). But that's just dreams, I think there's no capes anyway :sadvaultboy:
