Capes

Post » Sat Aug 28, 2010 2:03 am

Should there be capes in Skyrim? The capes wouldn't be common at all and have rare effects, such as invisibility. There would be unique, with no generic capes.

If the cape is invisible how will we find it?

Anyway I voted yes although I doubt Bethesda will put capes in the game...again

Some kind of cloak or cape would be nice, I don't particularly mind if they aren't included though.

I don't really care about Capes, but I do want a cloak of some sort. One that can go over your armour. I don't really think they should be super special or anything.

LOL - I am going to assume that is the awesome Edna Mole, I can't view youtube clips atm. I immediately thought "NO CAPES!" when I saw the thread title too.

I don't really care if capes are in or not, won't make or break the game for me. If they do put them in though. I would love the option to toggle the visibility off. Same with helms. I want any stat or enchant bonues, but don't like to always have that stuff viewable on my toon.

Yer darn right! High Fiiiiive!

As for what I think of capes: generally no.

are way better than capes. Correct me if i'm wrong, but capes don't serve any utilitarian purpose do they? they're a status symbol, or a mark of rank or association (i'm thinking of assassin's creed with the faction capes). Tunics and cloaks seem to have much more common purposes.

Only if the new engine allows for them to sway in the wind awesomely, whilst also looking natural.
If not, I sense lots of clipping.
I'm thinking they'll probably look pretty corny too, but what's an RPG without capes!? :D

I want both capes and cloaks, and I'd say that they should be like any other item of clothing, they can come in enchanted and non-enchanted versions. It's just one of those things that really seems like it should be obvious, but I guess isn't, since Bethesda still hasn't done them.
