Is 95 caps too much for a stimpak?

Or maybe the question could be "Is 95 caps just right for a stimpak?" You can answer based on your taste or your sense of fairness, I'm just looking for generally good price for an enjoyable experience. When I opened the "You are SPECIAL" book at the beginning of the game, I picked 1 for charisma. Why? Because that's what you do for Fallout New Vegas, right? Unfortunately, I forgot to factor in Fallout Wanderer's Edition.

Man, if I chose 1 charisma then maybe I should have specialized in barter. I can see 95 caps being steep now, but I have no idea how soon I will be rolling in caps like, say, Dead Money for fnv. The skills I specialized in were guns, repair, and I think lockpicking. I am right after the part where I killed Arkansas, and man how much ammo I had to spend to kill this guy before he could kill me.

Pretty much spray and pray at medium distance ( because one of the mines crippled my gun arm ), 10mm bullets cost 5 caps each so those 9 x 19's I used would have cost more if I bought them. I got those bullets fair and square by following a caravan on its strange and winding course from Megaton to the Arlington library and letting them kill raiders for me.

I cannot help you with FWE as I have never got around to using it on my pc. The nearest I have come to that mod is to watch the FWE Lets's Play and I can certainly say that It looks quite awesome with all the parts you can tinker. If one 10mm bullet is 5 then the stimpak seems right to me.

The price of all items should be lifted across the board, as it just makes sense in Fallout that people will try to rip others in their most desperate hour. And I think that Beth does tend to lower their prices in their games anyway. Just look at Skyrim- you are rolling in gold and that carriage trip is still only 20-50 gold! Beth should cater their games to us hardcoe gamers and not just the mass market.

It sounds like you're not using the right approach with him. You should be giving him a taste of his own medicine and sniping him from the edge of town. It never takes me more than a few bullets to take him down, then I never have to worry about the mines after that. They're basically free loot and XP. As for the cost of the Stimpak, considering that it costs me 150 in New Vegas, with a Charisma level of 5, I'd say you're getting a pretty good deal. It may be tough going at first, but you'll probably be swimming in Caps eventually. Provided you play a little smarter than you have been at least.
