CapsAdmin's Smooth egt for Vanilla Races

Post » Thu Dec 23, 2010 4:03 pm

I'm looking for CapsAdmin's smooth egt for vanilla races - I'm told one was made but I can't find a download link. I've found links to other races and the vanity pack, but I can't seem to locate an .egt for vanilla races (Bretons, Nords, etc.)

Can someone direct me to a download link? Also, when I find it, to I just replace the human .egt in the meshes/characters folder or how do I overwrite the .egt for vanilla .egt?

Thanks.

It's in the "Miscellaneous" files.

Thanks. :)

However, when I open my Oblivion\Data\meshes\Characters\imperial directory, I don't see a headhuman.egt file to overwrite? I have a headhuman_50.egt file. Should I change the name?

Thanks.

It's in the bsa as are all vanilla meshes, so it will be "overwritten" by the replacer.

Interesting. So just drop it in that directory and it the game will read that instead of what's in the .bsa? I didn't know it could do that.

If I'm wrong - or if I have the wrong directly (kind of hard to tell without something to overwrite) - someone let me know, please.

Thanks for the help.

That is correct - As long as the one that is outside the BSA has a newer date than the one in the BSA file the game will use the new one !

The bsa is a compressed archive (similar to a zip or 7z file) that contains the games assets. Check out archive 'invalidation' for a more complete discussion in a variety of threads, such as http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/449239-oblivion-mods-faq/.

Of course! Thanks for this. I guess I knew this - I thought I did - but I hadn't made the connection with face textures, etc. :)
