Captured provisioner?

Post » Thu Mar 17, 2016 11:28 pm

Was going through saugus ironworks on a pick up quest and noticed a pack brahmin standing inside the building, found one of my provisioners tied up by the forged and released him. But the game had given me no indication he needed to be rescued, and the supply line was still on the map and working.

Anyone else had this?

No, but the patch is live for the XB1 and I think PS4 today. So maybe it is part of that?

I haven't seen it yet. But my XB1 keeps crashing to Home or restarting the Fallout start up process, or freezing. I played for about 5 hours after the patch and boom crashes.

So once this is resolved I hope to see the captured provisioners.

On a side note is it a radiant quest? I sided with the institute and I have radiant quest to rescue captured Synths. But of course I have to keep going to the quest giver to get those quests. So you should see that in your quest log. If it was a radiant quest.

There are also quests that the settlements give out. Usually you find out about these when you talk to settlers. Usually for me it's when I'm selling to my merchants. Then one will give you a quest to rescue their friend. And kidnapping is one of the things they do. I believe your Provisioners count as one of these. So that may just be it. If it is the settlement thing you may not notice it until you go back to that settlement and one of the settlers has the quest icon over their head to turn it in. But certainly is not a obvious quest if your not big on talking to your settlers. If you don't talk to them I think those settlement quest have a timer. If you rescue them, you did it. If not you may only find it on the failed quest list.

Yes I've often been going through an area and found a prisoner but not been sent on a mission to rescue anyone.

Back Street Apparel and Medford Memorial Hospital are pretty bad for it.

@Valtain...

So maybe it's part of the settlement rescue stuff. It seems the logical conclusion. Though I hope it's a new quest thing. Because new quest, keep me busy.

On my glitch. Someone said they had corrupted saves on their PS4 on another post. One guys fix was to uninstall and reinstall. I have cloud for XB1 so I risked it. Sweating my level 108 and 50 characters lives. The uninstall/reinstall did not work. Thankfully the cloud saves gave me back my characters.

I tried to continue as before. Same crash back to the start or freeze up. My son suggested trying to load a previous game. The PS4 corrupt save post, made this seem pretty logical. Boom, game works again. I delete the corrupted save and I can play again.

But apparently this new patch is causing corrupt saves on both the XB1 and PS4.

I found a Settler stood on a bridge and I had the option to release, release and trade, do nothing. It wasn't on mission or anything. It was after patch 1.3

And i lost one Provisioner. Just gone. Probably dumbfudge killed himself in the river, but who knows.

@headpopper...

Hmm I haven't seen that yet. But that's the beauty of games like this. I have seen my wife play and find things I never saw in 4 play throughs. I have found things she didn't.

So this could be a new thing. I just haven't seen it yet.

If so great job by Bethesda. As anything that makes the settlements better or gives me new quest is okay with me.
