Is xfire also lowering the fps that much like fraps?

Cuz if I use fraps, I can only record with 30fps, which is not ideal for playing...

For me: FRAPS would kill my fps when I was using a single HDD. Now I have two HDDs setup in RAID 0 and FRAPS doesn't hurt the fps now where near as bad, almost not at all. I can easily record 1920x1080 @ 60fps. I believe the performance drop comes from the HDD setup.

You can record as long as you want, but be warned that 8mins is about 10gb, you can make it smaller though by recording half screen but qualitys not as good.
I dont really notice any fps change but this game does already run about 30fps when not recording

Well, for me it runs at about 60fps. And fraps lowers them down to 30fps. (Cuz if you use the freeware-version of fraps, you can only record 30fps-vids.)
And if xfire isn't limiting the fps, then I think I'm gonna use xfire from now on.

We use "Playclaw" which is multi-threading and better the more cores you have. You configure it to use as many as you want, we use "3" in a 4 core system and notice no difference in our gameplay.

"Playclaw" - ( to record video while you play on a PC )

Results look like this...

More importantly, you're gonna need to do some post-processing of your videos to actually get them into YouTube.

We use "Virtualdub" afterwards to convert our recording to the dimensions we want for HD videos on YouTube 1280x720 ( known as "HD 720p" ). YouTube then compresses videos anyway with their own codecs to make them as small as possible but if you don't have those dimensions to begin with you'll end up with some awful quality stuff. So upload as 1280x720.

Our monitors are 2048x1152 so we record full-screen or quarter size depending on the length of the video. Crysis 2 Multiplayer games are short, 10 mins or so which is OK for full-size recordings. If you're doing a long-session of 30 minutes or more, you likely want to use quarter-size to fit more in your disk.

"Virtualdub" - (to convert videos to 1280x720 - it's FREE)
http://virtualdub.sourceforge.net/

"ffdshow-tryouts" - ( FREE Codecs you need to compress the video down to a reasonable size on disk, used by Virtualdub )
http://ffdshow-tryout.sourceforge.net/download.php

Procedure is to record with Playclaw using dimensions you want and 'low compression' setting for the video. Afterwards open the resulting raw video file with Virtualdub, set "full-processing" for the video AND the audio, then "Compression..." in each menu (video+audio) to choose the codecs you want. We use "mp3" for Audio and "xvid" for Video, set to resize to 1280x720, setting Virtualdub to 'highest priority' in the dialog while converting so you finish as quickly as possible.

@Cinerir yes it can record with all kinds of customizable overlays.

Sounds interesting. Can it show the fps like fraps?

I have a quadcore cpu, so it should run alright.

Also keep in mind that YouTube limits the length of your video uploads to less than 10 minutes until you reach over 1,000 views in "Total Upload Views". After that you can upload videos longer than 10 minutes.

Another tip is that gameplay videos with a voiceover intro or some sort of commentary seem to spread faster, generally speaking. It's just easier to watch when there's some sort of story rather than just some random game that you know nothing about. Your mileage may vary.

GameCam does not lower the FPS you're getting while recording. Try it, it's a nice app:
