Caravan card game bugged

Post » Wed Aug 26, 2009 12:12 pm

I'm noticing a few bugs with the Caravan card game:

1. When cycling between cards the lower row (showing the cards not in your deck) sometimes gets out of sync with the upper row (showing cards in your deck). This causes the game to display a card as being in my deck when it is in fact not, and vice versa.

Also, I see no way to add cards that you've found to your deck. The rules say you can have multiples so long as they aren't from the same set, so why can't I add the Aces, etc. to my deck? Right now my inventory is cluttered with extra cards I've found.

I was wondering about how you add the found cards to your main deck, too. Seems like that mechanic is just plain missing.

I have also noticed bugs in the caravan game. At this time it hardly works for me at all. It will not let me start caravans, and forces me to discard cards that are legal to play until the deck has run out of cards. Also, i have yet to find a way to use the cards i've found in the play deck. Only once, when i attempted a game, did it seem to not glitch. Otherwise the button that lets you play cards from your hand onto the table was broke.

I think the caravan game is glitched somehow. Sometimes I will get into a game where all I can do is hit discard over and over until I run out of cards. I thought I just didn't know how to play.

I have yet to win. I don't think I'm going to play that minigame until there is a patch.

I had the same issues with Caravan, but just found a site that recommends using the arrow keys to control the card placement. I'll try it when I can play again tonight.

its worse for me: my opponent doesnt seem to have any funds! i tried ringo in goodsprings, nash in primm and that bartender in ncr mojave outpost. can take money from none of them. a friend of mine has the same problem.

controls are bugged, yeah. but you can use the arrow keys, works just fine.

I also have the fund problem: no NPCs seem to want to wager money on caravan.

I have the problem with the cards scrolling too (when assembling your deck before you play). Switching to the next or previous card looks like you've moved two or something. But if you add or remove the card, the one that should have been moved is moved and not the one that is displayed. Sometimes moving back and forward again a few times means you actually get the correct display.

LOL. That was my conclusion upon trying to sort out the rule set of the caravan game as explained in game.

I decided to 'not wager' on Caravan . NPC's are no fools it appears.

LOL.

I mean I understand Poker (and variants) Texas Holdem, Solitare, Xcell, Go Fish , Caravan rule set read left me breathless.
Just say no.

I noticed the glitch while you skim through your deck before the game starts...i just hit the randomize button till a set looks appealing to me. I too didnt see the NPC wager any money but i gained 500 caps from the 500 i put down and won.

BTW just save before you play and if you lose...load. (cheap i know). The game is pretty strategic so once you get the feel for it you wont need to be cheap.

Oh thanks. I didn't know you could control the cards with the arrow keys. :celebration:

Haven't found a single NPC that will wager money on Caravan.

Also, the ton of extra cards is cluttering my inventory.

The PC version of the Caravan game is highly bugged. Cards you buy are suppose to auto-integrate into your deck. But bought items that have secondary actions aren't working right in the PC version. (A similar issue is happening with Ammo Packs.) The 360 version doesn't have these issues. (Guess which one got the QA focus.)

Also, the control scheme for the Caravan game is absolute garbage... Actually, they could stand to fire most of the UI people. (I won't use the term designer or developer for those people.)
