Caravan cards not being added to deck

Post » Tue Sep 07, 2010 10:35 pm

Playing on the PC version (obviously considering the forum) with a C.E. of the game (not that it matters) and the pre-order package from GameStop (again, shouldn't matter).
Anyway, I've been buying and picking up all the cards in the game that I can find, and none of them have been added to my Caravan deck. I can see all the cards I've picked up in the misc section of the pip-boy, as well as the Caravan deck, but when I go to play Caravan with someone, the only cards I have available to use are the ones from the original deck (that you get from Ringo and are all "tops" backing). I have tried left-clicking on the cards in the pip-boy menu to 'use' them, as well as doing the same with the Caravan Deck.

Is there something I am missing? Some way to add these to my deck?

If for some reason you need my computer stats let me know.

As far as I know its not possible to add them on the PC, its bugged. They should have delayed the game for a month and actually done some QA testing.

Well . . . that is stupid. Hopefully they plan on patching this then. Kind of defeats the purpose of playing how you want to if you can't add cards. Not that it has been hard to beat people so far . . ..

I am beginning to agree. Oh well, *knocks on wood* at least I have not had any major issues with the game (graphics, freezing, etc). Only thing I had at first was extremely low framerate, so I turned down the graphics and it is now playable.

There's a mod that's been released to http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34855.

That is cool. I will keep that in mind; I would rather wait and see if there will be a patch, though. I haven't done the whole modding thing yet, so not sure exactly how to do it at the moment. If no patch soon, though, I will definitely learn how to.

Oh, wow, that would explain a lot. Here I was thinking it was ridiculous that all these individual cards are just sitting in my inventory.

It's awesome that a fan has already fixed this with a mod, but like everything going on at this stage, I sure hope this gets fixed officially (and in this particular case, I can't imagine that they wouldn't fix it, seeing as how it's a major-ish, simple to fix issue).

Found another way to fix this:

Put all your loose cards in an object (such as the safe in the motel room).
Exit inventory screen.
Go back into object and grab all cards.

They should all be in your caravan deck now. Can be a pain, but whatever works.

Thanks a lot for this tip. I've been playing forever with all those damn cards in my inventory because I'm weary about using custom mods. This worked like a charm! :)

Consiquently enough, this also works for Ammo Boxes and Primer Boxes.

Ammo boxes turn into (duh) ammo, and Primer Boxes turn into (again, duh) Primer.

If you are playing on normal mode (aka NOT hardcoe), this gets a LOT of weight off your person. (I had 8 Ammo boxes (different types) and 11 Primer boxes (again, different types) that when converted to ammo/primer I lost 46 lbs of gear.

. . . This may sound dumb, but I wondered wth the boxes were for since they didn't auto-convert ><

You can also get the ammo/primer boxes to work by dropping them on the ground and picking them back up as well. I tried it with cards and it didn't work, but I'll try putting the cards into a container and taking them again and see if that works for me.
