Caravan help

Post » Thu Dec 15, 2011 10:11 pm

I need help winning. I'll get three caravans between 21 and 26 and I still won't win I still have to put cards down. I'll have three cards on each caravan. Either a ten eight and a king or a nine eight and a king. What the h is going on?

Any help or tips and strategies?

really simple actually. The key thing is to hit down on the number 26 in your slots, so imo, the reason I win is holding in 10's, 6's, Kings, Jacks, and 8's. This pretty much helps me win every Caravan game with ease, the only hard part is getting the large amount of 10's, though the 8's seem pretty common I guess. when the opponent is getting close to a 26 in a slot, you can do the two choices: sacrifice a King to double any card in his slot x2, so if he has a 25 or 20, it would look pretty silly of him when you placed it on an 8 and made him lose his entire slot of cars. Or go with a jack, and knock down on of the highest numbers in the slot so he'll have to place down more numbers to get back up. Both are tricky, risky, and come with merits, but if I have no choice or pretty much have my slots ready to win, I'll always sacrifice an extra King to get rid of the competition. If I'm still racing up towards 26, I'll knock his down a bit with Jacks. Simple as that. Try to avoid adding crazy odd numbers such as 7, or 5.

I do 7, 9, and 10's with kings and jacks.

I love the challenge so I click randomize deck before every game. Its the best way to get better.

I do 7, 9, and 10's with kings and jacks.

that's pretty much the other alternative, however, if you notice though, the only way to get a perfect 26 is managed to get 7,9, and 10 on every slot.

Those are the only cards I have besides face cards when I enter the game. I usually discard until I have enough to do 2 straight caravans before I even start(3 of either 7 or 10 and atleast 2 9's). There can be a difficulty if the NPC is very jack-happy and the cards you need to rebuild you row aren't drawn. With all that being said, I've lost 2/20 after adopting that strategy.

NICE! lol. I think I only lost once against the chick at the Mohave Outpost. Very Jack happy that one. However, I haven't played Caravan much, so I think I have fewer wins then you do.

My win/loss ratio is about 23/1 with my current strategy. So far the most difficult person I've faced is No-bark and I even lost to him, I hate it when puts a Jack on one of my slots, but I absolutely want to rip apart his face when he starts layering Kings on one of my high cards. Its the way I found out that you can't use a use a Jack to remove a card that already has two Kings on it.
