Caravan Problems on PS3

Post » Thu Dec 11, 2008 6:06 am

When I try to play Caravan, I can select my deck, place 3 x cards to start the Caravans, but I am unable to place any numerical cards on any pile. Neither number nor suit seem to make a difference, and I see my opponent placing cards which don't follow the Caravan's suit (as described in the user manual).

"Caravans have a direction (either ascending or descending numerically) and a suit." - page 24.

I can place any card I want to start the 3 piles, and then I am only able to place face cards.

Am I the only one experiencing this? Has someone figured out a strategy to win when you can (at best) make your Caravan worth 10 (with a 10 card and a King as far as I can tell)?

Thank you.

There's kind of a weird thing in Caravan (took me forever to work it out, as well.) When placing the cards, you can press up and down, as well as left and right. By default, it tries to have place the new cards right on top of the previous ones - instead of... "just below it," for some reason.

Don't feel too bad, the user interface and the lack of explanation in-game on how it works is quite abysmal. It took myself and many others I'm sure many frustrated games of it and Internet searches until the "trick" was found on how to actually move and place cards in the game. Shame really, as it can be fun once you get the hang of it.

Just about as much as the rest of us did when we figured it out
