I thought there was mention before about a version of Caravan (flash maybe) that we could play prior to game release? Any further info on that?

Yeah, I'm much better at learning the rules of a new game by actually playing it than reading from a bunch of rules... =p

It would be good to get to give it a go before being actually in the game, but as long as it's better than Pazaak I don't mind

Well considering launch is less than a couple days, it's a bit late for a pre-game. Guess we'll learn in the real thing.
