carriage... teleport or real time?

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 2:18 pm

So we go up to a carriage.. do you want to sit in the back and ride slowly to the next town?

or pop over after a quick loading screen? ala getting to mournhold.

Make it a choice in my opinion, after the first trip.

Teleport. What would be the point of using a system thats faster if I still have to wait? Unless it goes super fast in which case I would go for real time

Well from what they've told us everybody who votes should be voting "don't know" because we really don't know.

Now if your asking what we would want, I would say something like how it was in GTAIV where you could watch the whole ride or just skip it if you don't care.

1. Real time = no longer fast travel.
2. Real time + the ability to press a button and instantly appear at the destination = fast travel.

2. Would be great, along with the chance of enemy ambushes while you're travelling.

But I wouldn't be devastated if it's simply a loading screen. What I mainly cared about was a valid alternative to OB fast travel. And I'm very glad for simply just that.

why in the world would you get into a carriage if you didn't make you fast travel. It would be slower then walking.

I agree that having the option of both travelling in real time ala GTA IV, RDR etc, and being able to skip to the destination, like in the aforementioned games, would be excellent.

Really hoping that this is the case as I would love to sit back and travel, with the option of jumping off the carriage to bash some poor creatures head in.. or to have a gout of flame descend upon our heads

So why would you need an instant carriage transport when you can just go to the menu and fast travel? I say it's real-time.

Because you can only fast-travel to places you have already been. You could use the carriage/siltstrider to travel to new areas faster than walking.

This is my option, it would be so nice, but I expect something similar to Morrowind: pay, loading screen, bam!

I would still rather see 'Segways' for transport...

Both like RDR, although teleport is more likely.

But after that? The carriage becomes useless. I can just fast travel now. It's going to be real-time.

Honestly Im only gonna be using these a couple times to major places I have not gone to yet. But after I've been there once I'm most likely gonna just fast travel there

Make it optional, like when you're riding a cab in GTA IV.

I personally do not care in the least, so long as I can go the effort of going to a carraige and coughing up coins to get to another city and if Im short, utilize my skills to acquire some. to super teleport to another location anywhere by clicking on the map.

tough one. real time would make it more interesting, but it would kind of lose its value, since you could just travel by yourself (unless its alot faster and safer of course). It could open for bandits attacking you or stuff like that. My bet is that its teleporting anyway..
