I thought carts/carriages a la Daggerfall had been confirmed long ago. No?

Good eye indeed.

It would be even better if traveling by cart/carriage was an actual animation rather than just another form of fast travel.

Oooh, it IS a first person view from the back of the cart. And there's another person in there with you! I wonder if he's like the Dunmer in Morrowind when you first wake up on the prison ship.

I don′t know it is a first person view. I think it′s more like a cut scene...

A fantastic mod!!!!
They did one for Oblivion, it was far from perfect, but I still found it better than fast travel, it was fun to watch the wolves give chase.

Logical Spoiler Theory:

You're a prisoner, tied to a prisoner's cart/carriage being hauled to the location where you're to be executed.
You're tied to the sides along with other prisoners.

I'm sure once you reach Helgen, you'll be pelted with cabbage and other various vegetables.

And then the dragon attacks. During the ruccus- you are freed and you escape.

or it could be esbern in that cart heading to the place of our execution :whistling:

No, it can't. Elder Scrolls are always told from the PC's perspective. Morrowind had a dream at the start, yes, but it was the PC's perspective. The only exception I can think was Oblivion's introduction but it wasn't really a major part of the story and didn't really involve your character yet. It was basically just a shot of the emperor and a bird's eye view of the Imperial City with giant guards. Telling NPC stories through cutscenes doesn't happen in TES games, thankfully.

I'm pretty sure it's the intro and you're in the carriage. Probably will involve the character creation in some way. Seems like a good idea to me to immediately show the great outdoors, instead of the cramped 30-minute dungeon crawl at the start of Oblivion.

It's not a cart. It's a carriage.

To the left is the horse, to the right is the person conducting the carriage

I'm going with cart. Carriages tend to have a roof of some sort, and seats. Carts are just... Carts. Open, no seats, you can throw whatever in them, like hay, or prisoners. It's like Gandalf's cart. He wasn't driving a carriage full of fireworks to Hobbiton, it was a cart, or a wagon.

It's a helmet, what you think is the peak is the cheek guard.

I think it is the intro too... But the real question here is if we can use the cart for travel and for carry things... And this would be great...!!!! :foodndrink:

From what we know so far, the use of carriages is another form of fast travel, they cost gold because they can take you to locations you've not discovered yet.

Wasn't this already confirmed due to players finding a group of guards who were transporting a prisoner?

Minor spoilers:

The player was then prompted to either give the prisoner an item, free the prisoner or do nothing.
