Cash Register sound is gone?

I am pretty sure this will be the third mod after the nvde mod and the gain a perk every level mod.

Eh, if it's gone, good riddance. If it's not, then I'll manage... easily.

nvde mod

Again with the inevitable nvde mods? Why is the first thought on most beginning modders minds "I want to make everyone completely nvde"?

and the gain a perk every level mod.

DO NOT WANT :stare:

It should be the new meaning of the "Commando" perk.

This I could understand.

I honestly don't understand nvde mods though. I mean if you think about it, they really don't make any logical sense. I mean, when you're taking someone's clothes off of their dead body, why would you take off their underwear if you just want the clothes? Unless everybody in Tamriel and the post-apocalyptic U.S. decided freeballing is the way to go.

Sorry for the slight off-topic.

You are looking at it the wrong way. In a post-apocalyptic world where clothing is scarce and Fruit-of-the-Loom is a crater in the ground, no one would be wearing underwear. As for Oblivion (and related slightly to Fallout I guess), medieval people rarely wore underwear either. When you really come down to it, underwear is sort of a luxury item and isn't needed when you are already wearing pants or a robe or dress.

And . . . the cash register being gone is a travesty if true. Something equally addicting had best have replaced it.

I'm in gaming because of the battle between cash registers and nothing, and I believe that cash registers will win.

Wouldn't be surprised if it's replaced with a more "casino-y" sound. The sound of poker chips clanking together, or cards shuffling, or slot machine jackpot, etc.

Shuffling cards sounds like Farting. Well, it does.

However a slot machine payoff might be cool. Maybe more coin sounds for each level.....

Personally I used the cash register sound to confirm if something died on long distance outside perception range (I'm usually a sniper kinda guy) I really missed it when I hit max level since there's no way to tell if you kill something or it's running away behind cover or a hill or something.

For a minute, I thought we were talking about the Cash Register object XDDDD.

Anyway. I never had a problem with it. Now what they should do is kill off the Ripper, that sound drives me crazy :stare:

I'm sure I won't miss the lack of the cha-ching sound after every kill as I'll be taking
a hit of Jack Daniels Black Label after every kill I make good on. After dozen or so kills
I'll not give a [censored].

Yes this is true, it was very annoying to search the entire Mall for the BoS Soldier patrolling with it so I could kill him.

I thought it was a nice touch, but I won't miss it.

Its nice to hear during a level up at least and hear the DING DING DING! sound and get our reward.

Heh we players are like dogs hoping for our next meal/level.

De-dah-de-dah-loop!

Has anyone condidered that possibility that the dev builds they were using somehow disabled the sound just like how you wouldn't get XP or the sound after you hit level cap? It only chimed when you were awarded XP that could add to your XP total, so maybe the dev builds or the dev "cheats" they had on made it so they were not adding to the XP total.

I think the lack of the *Cha-Ching* sound was because the characters they played where all level 30 plus God Mode and maxed stats so they can show stuff off.

I hope it's still there! For me, much of the satisfaction of killing something and most of the satisfaction from hacking/lock picking came from hearing that noise.

But then again, I'm a very Auditory-based person, so stuff like that and music is a very basic hard-to-quench need for me.

Oh man the Cash Register sound is the best! I don't know why, it makes absolutely no sense and isn't realistic, but I absolutely love that "Cha-Ching!" every time you rack up some points. Perhaps it comes from living in America where the cash register sound triggers that love of money. :)

I hope it stays!
