Cash Register sound is gone?

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 9:10 pm

Anybody know is the cash register experience sound is still in the game? I just noticed I hadn't heard it in any of the recent gameplay vids.

That would be something I would certainly miss if it's no longer there. :(

Oh I know. That was a "what" of disbelief, not of inquiry. And it was deliberately over-dramatic; if it's gone then farewell to it.

Wouldn't be surprised if it's replaced with a more "casino-y" sound. The sound of poker chips clanking together, or cards shuffling, or slot machine jackpot, etc.

I will mourn its passing as it's immensely useful if you're firing at targets at the absolute display limit since you can know without having to look whether or not you got a kill.

I thought you did not know what the sound was :P. When I seen the title I thought it was the sound you make when you loot tills. :P

If it's gone, I'll download the first mod that puts it back. Nothing better than [HIDDEN] *phut* *cha-ching!*

Sorry, but the cash register sound felt VERY out of place for me...if it's gone in FO:NV - it's better that way.

I thought this topic was talking about the sound made when you loot tills as well, and I was kind of meh over its absence.

But you are talking about the sound made when you get XP for killing an enemy?! Say it ain't so! That sound was so satisfying in a Pavlovian-way . . . :sadvaultboy:

Nope, I think it's gone completely. How could they do that? At least keep it with wild wasteland.
I loved that sound. Now I'm going to have to get a bicycle bell and ring it every time I kill something.

If it's gone, then good riddance to bad rubbish. I don't git a [censored] about immersion, but that sound just got annoying.

I'm pretty sure it's still in. I recall hearing it during the Best Buy Live Stream.

I don't see why they would get rid of it. Most people seemed to really enjoy the sound and missed it when it was gone. Hell, some people listed the reasoning why they liked Broken Steel is because they could hear the cha-ching of leveling up once again for a bit longer.

Myself? I don't care either way.
