Cashes after patch 1.3

Post » Tue Feb 02, 2016 12:48 pm

Hello!

Every since the new patch I've had alot of crashes. If I disable all my mods I cannot even start the game, if I leave them I can play as normal with a few characters but with my current play I can only load from saves when inside (inside the Prydwen for example), but when trying to enter the ousite world I crash. I've tried to disable every mod one by one but it doesn't matter. Also inside the Prydwen compartment I've had crashes when killing peolple, never had crashes before. Game crashes at the moment the loading screen is about to finish. Saves outside crashes once loading screen is about to finish regardless how long ago they were with this particular playthrough.

Any ideas anyone?

Ty in advance.

Can you start a new game with all the mods disabled?

Any companion altering mods, should be considered obsolete as the data fields which tie into their scripts have changed as well.

If you have all mods disabled, it is still doing it, and you have say an amd card of the 2XX flavor I do know that the beta of this patch caused those amd users to have game crashes... forcing them to opt out of the beta.

2 things to try to see if it fixes the issue:

1) https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335

2) Delete the files Fallout4.ini, Fallout4Prefs.ini, and Fallout4Custom.ini in the My Documents/My Games/Fallout 4 folder. Once you have done this run the Fallout 4 launcher to regenerate these files.

These 2 things fixed issues that some people were experiencing before the beta went live.

The second option actually solved it! Thanks man! Now is just the question, do I leave all my mods out for now or can I safely configure Fallout4.ini, Fallout4Prefs.ini, and Fallout4Custom.ini again to allow modding aswell as some other neat features?

If your plugins doesn't work again, as it was the case with the 1.3 beta patch, you can try this:

Hi Mark! I've been struggling to get my plugins to start working again. I can't find the path in the link you provided, I'm using Win10 and I got Fallout 4 at me E: drive. I can't find any plugins.txt files or loadorder.txt anywhere. I don't use alot of mods and only one mod that would alter my footprints within the game so far. So maybe I'm better off just playing vanilla for now and just delete all my plugins and NMM? Maybe it's possible to reinstall everything from where I stand now? Now I managed to load into my current save after have deleted my .ini-files. I've done some minor tweaks to them like FOV, sensitivity and HUD-colors, but as soon as I alter the .ini-files for modusage I get the same problems again.

Unplayable for me after 1.3 patch - rainbow blocking on all textures, not directly on load but progressively worse and worse after walking around for a minute to the extent that grass and other objects aren't recognizable.

Tried above two solutions - no luck, but thank you.

Had mods installed but have removed now (physically all from common\Fallout 4\Data\, and the linking files in My Games\Fallout4\ and AppData\Local\Fallout4\) and still have the issue. Running at lowest settings w/ NVIDIA GTX 660 4GB / i7 3770 3.4 GHz 16GB.

Same issue on "new" game file as well.

Had occasional rainbow blocking before patch; once in a blue moon, but now it's constant and pervasive.

Very disappointed. Is there a way to roll back the patch?

SOLVED: Updated my graphics card driver, and installed NVIDIA's GeForce Experience. Works fine now, mods back on and all.

Have new game crashing on entry to Vault 111 with no mods active.
This is pretty messed up.

After a bit of exploration, and some exploration, entries in Fallout4Custom.ini may be a problem source.
Unsure which ones, so far, but running with this file absent or blank seems to eliminate crashes after regenerating the other ini files.
