I currently cannot do either mission. One where Jean Baptiste wants you to bring Cass and one where the Crimson Caravan wants to buy Cass out.


Cass will go through the dialog for the Von Graff stuff but then the dialog box goes back to "I wanted to ask something else/goodbye" without her doing anything and there is no dialog option for the Crimson caravan. Just the quests both pointing to her and her doing nothing. I have tried to make my companions wait somewhere and it makes no difference.


Anybody know a way that I can get the quests rolling? Maybe some "Carry 20 teddy bears and wear nothing but a cowboy hat and she will respond" type of thing?

Weird, I had my companion with me and had no troubles with the Crimson Caravan part. Haven't got to that part of the Van Graff quest though. Maybe you should completely dismiss your companion(s). I don't know if she's required to actually travel with you and if she is, then she can't because she's a companion.

i have the same problem i want to do the van graff quest and see what thats about then do the crimson caravan quest. Both Quests are bugged for me. Hell i can't even get her to join me. btw i am on pc i just wanted to find someone with same problem. It seems x360 is affected too what a surprise did they play test cass at all? if you get both quests at the same time and go talk to cass you can never complete both.

I'm not convinced that these quests are bugged...I had the Van Graff quest before I asked Cass to join me.

I couldn't get her to join me until I presented the offer about the Crimson Caravan buying her caravan. The reason why she won't follow is because her contract or something is keeping her where she is and she won't leave otherwise. Once her caravan is purchased, you can ask her if she wants to join you and after a little persuasion she'll go along. Once outside, this triggers the "Heartache By The Number" quest where she asks you to visit a series of locations. Eventually, that quest requires you to go to the Van Graff's anyway (sorry if that's a spoiler but it's relevant) so you're sort of able to take care of both quests (the Van Graff quest and Cass' quest) simultaneously.

Yeah, after a bit this is what I heard. So then I went to the Crimson Caravan and get the quest to buy her out, but she has no dialog options relating to that quest. Just the Von Graff one and she says she won't go anywhere until she losses her papers or title, but then it just goes back to the "I have more questions/goodbye" dialog box and nothing happends. Just like with the other quest.

I guess it's no big deal and I'll just skip the quests and do them again next play through, but that probably won't be for a while and it would be nice to play through most quests with the first charcter.

She gave you a quest first and i know it should say something like help me first and then i'll help you but sadly it doesn't so scroll through your quests and theirs one called "homesick for the caravan" or something like that and do that first and any side quests of off it.

Not really a bug, just a choice.

You can take her to Van Graff's (bad things happen) or you can choose not to and you don't complete their task.

Also, the Crimson caravan quest is doable, I did it before I recruited her, got her to sign it over with a speech check, then got her to join.

I know what you mean. There's a quest that you automatically fail if you go through with the final part of Cass' quest (trying not to spoil anything) so I haven't finished Cass' quest because I don't like the idea of 'failing' a quest I haven't even attempted! I wish the quests didn't negate each other so much because it makes me feel like I'm missing out. So I completely get what you're saying!

Von Graff quest: She won't go with me, because she can't go anywhere because off the caravan papers/title is keeping her there.

Crimson Caravan: She has NO dialog option for this mission and won't leave until I do this mission. I can't recruite her or anything there is literaly only a marker that is relating to the quest NOTHING about it can be found by speaking to her, she will only speak to me about the Von Graff quest but she won't do anything but talk about it until someone buys her title...... Which I can not do.


I have a save that is before either mission so I can go start the Caravan one, then it says go buy the title from Cass but she has no dialog options for selling her title.

Exact same thing happening to me.

All right dude. I found a solution.


Do the quest where you have to "Deliver the Crimson Caravan invoice to Doctor Hildern at Camp McCarren", then return to Alice McLafferty(the lady who gives you the CC quest) and let her know you've delivered the invoices.

Once you do that, ask for more work, get the next mission and ask her about all of the missions details.

That must make something "click" in the game and when you go back to Cass, the dialog option will appear.
