Casualty List

I've heard plenty of people say either this forum or the TES forum have a golden age. Maybe the TES forum, I am just going off what I am told.

And that is your downfall. Really, there is no Golden age, even if there is a lot of good fanfics or Rps, there is just a lot of good fanfics and Rps.

Prophet: Have hope, a rush of good fanfictions will come!

Naysayer: Nah...

Prophet: It will be a golden age!

Naysayer: Probably not, just a few good fanfictions and RPs...

Prophet leaves...

Rather than say "Golden Age" I suggest a lighter term? Like for instance "Dr. Strangelove's best months"? or maybe "The Golden Age of Dr. Strangelove". LOL

Seriously though, a lighter term like "Earlier this year was good" might suffice?

A golden age is when everyone on the forum has awesome stories up, or Rps, not just a few. Until everyone is a master story-teller or Rp god, there will be No golden age.

And that, in the entire history of the world, on every writing site on the internet, has never, nor will ever, happen. Example? FF.net. Go there and browse the popular categories (Read: Anime.) at your own risk.

Even if the term originated on the TES boards, there has never been a Golden Age there. I would actually say things may be slightly better now than then. Think of it this way. Some of the oldest RPs there, End of an Era, Siege of Sentinel, TES: Fallout, TES: Bioshock. These were all considered greats and they were all loads of fun for those who participated. But compare the writing quality of those with the quality of the RPs you see today. It should be telling just how much better things are, for the most part. Remeber, you don't start as a good writer. You work your way up to it. Even the so-called legends were terrible at one point along the line. The only time there may have been a Golden Age was when Loranna's Lore RP was around, and that's so far in distant memory that there are few that are around now that were in it. Aside from the Admins (Admin? I think Tedders was still an employee at the time.) of course.

It's never the site's fault, it's the writers. This is becoming very spammish and is only existing to compare FF3 to other sites and forums.

Quite. Anyway, is Francois still around? I haven't been on enough to tell, but I haven't seen him. If not, he should definitely be here, along with M'herre and a few others whose names I can't remember. Ah, I'd say Dan as well, unless he's still around too.

His mother is very sick right now, and he has little time for this site. Though, he may be jumping ship with me and Nazguljcg.

Jumping ship? As in leaving and going over to TES Fiction? I've posted a few things there, one I ended, and the other wasn't read. Don't get me wrong, the best part of that area is they call for really good skill. But that is also they're downfall, they call for too much skill. I consider myself a good writer, but my stories, I feel, are overshadowed.

I think part of the problem is some of us wish we could be more active, but can't post our things here (this is the case for me, mostly), don't write things a lot of people find interesting (again, mostly the case for me), or don't enjoy the type of RPs going on.. I know the type I like seem to die too soon and it's just no fun that way :( I'd post individual story threads for the stuff I wrote for the SM writing thread if I thought people would actually like them, but it's a small niche that most people look over. I'm actually surprised at how well that thread did. I need to prod it back to life..

No, entirely different website. I can't speak for Andy, I only think he is.

I might pop in and out a bit, maybe join an RP if it truly interests me, but other than that, I'm not going to be making anything for this site. I've taken stories I planned and removed the fallout lore, making them much better. The reason I'm leaving is because my RPing style isn't very supported here.

What kind of stories are they? I'd probably more than likely enjoy it since it's not what we usually have on here. I think you should just post an opening, see what people think. It never hurts just to see. :)

What do you mean? I've always liked your RPing style. It always kept with the older style, rather the newer more fast paced, quick to guns posts.

I see no problem with it either. You might as well take me as carry-on luggage, as I can fit in an overhead container.

Well, a majority of my writing is innappropriate for this forum. As in it's.. naughty. The other thing is, like with the SM writing thread (see my sig), people just aren't interested in reading about mutants just doing their thing :P

What RP style do you guys mean? I like it where a post is several paragraphs long (at least three) and gets something done hopefully. I don't like single paragraph or even single sentence ones. Those drive me crazy. I like it where it's more like an interactive story that you and a few other people are writing together.

That's exactly it. There's not too many RPs, and RPers, that can slow it down with good detail and keep their interest. I really, really want a non-violent RP, like the one I made. But instead, I removed the Fallout lore and made it more scifi-ish.

Oh, lol. If I could write something, and get out of my writers block. I'd try something with mutants. But like you said, people just aren't interested. And the only RP style I can write in, is one's with description and length. These single paragraph and single sentences just boggle my mind with confusion on what's happening. :ahhh:

That's a shame. I know it probably wouldn't have been very successful, but it was a unique and interesting idea. If you want. Send me a copy of the main idea (I think you did already, but I can't find anything of it.) and I'd check it out.

Oh this is going to be fun. I can just write down my most of my friends list. *Clears throat*

DuckandCover- Don't know why, when I came back. He was gone?

Mr.SmileySmile- Once again, when I came back. He was gone?

NAKUMORA- Don't know guess he just up and left because there was nothing to do?

NYAghost- Just gave up and stopped. Least, that's what I heard.

PsympleJerster- Great RPer, sadly he left because of the RP incidents that were beginning to occur.

Squirlpowers- Another great RPer, sadly left for unknown reasons.

TseyAkan- Best damn RPer I've ever started with. He was here before me, and helped guide me through the RP ropes. Great guy, left because he got bored.

Wolf Murdoch- Wow, he left because he's got a kid! Last I heard, he was busy with that. And had no time for forum stuff?

How could I almost forget, SideWynder0!! Great RPer as well. We made several RPs together, that were a great success. Me and him, were the first two that started up the whole Enclave RPs based which would later become the "Hill Site" series I later continued. He left because he and his girlfriend moved house or something?

All were great in their own ways. Some came before, and after my appearance; but all of them showed some great skill at RPing, and showed that to keep an RP going. You need some SERIOUS interest. I say good luck to them all.

Yeah, I remember the Hillsite Rp. Those were some great rp's. But yeah I still remeber Psymble and Mr. Smiley. I slso took a few breaks here and their.

We need a bit more originality here, maybe a Fallout FanFic sort of crossed over with Van Helsing?

That's an interesting idea Shadow. I'd just read that to see how in holy hell you'd be able to cross the two. Originality is a great point though. I've been trying to bring some zaniness to fan fics but that's just me. We need some light heartedness to compensate for the bleakness that is Fallout.

Depends on how you look at it. It won't be a RP, maybe a FanFic. I just don't see an Rp happening on that.
