Hey forum I'm new to the site, and to the elder scrolls series, and i just started playing around with custom spells, the first thing i did when i started playing was finish the mages guild quest and nights of the nine. Anyway to my question i have a custom spell and its set up like this fortify magica, fire damage on target, weakness to fire, and finally weakness to magic. now when i cast this spell, it sets my character on fire, and the fire last the duration of the fortify magica, i was wondering if i had the spell set up wrong or if it did this with all custom spells....it wouldn't seem like a big problem, and it wasn't at first but i play the game first person and the flame makes it impossible to see, so i loose sight of the target. any help would be greatly appreciated

It's a bug that is tied to the "on self" effect, of the Fortify Magicka. Chain Spells were restudied, by some of us, last week. We experienced the same thing. I can only assume it is due to something in the latest patch. I don't know for sure. I am on the 360 and a PC gamer reported the same thing. This will also happen when Fort Mag is applied to other Custom Spells, with different spells applied, like Frost or Shock, with no damage to the player character. The effects, from adding the other spells, do not blind the player like the Fire Spells.

I feel your pain. It is almost impossible to track the target when this happens. Alas, there is no known fix. At least none that I have read, heard or come up with.
