Cathay Khajiit

I'm toying wit the idea that the 'fur' could be the hair rom the khajiit coming through the gaps in the armor.... But thats just me hoping for the best.

The oranger, wispier stuff at the shoulders is part of the armor, while the rest (except the gloves) is the Khajiit's fur, I believe.

There is definitely fur on the armor. Though I guess that just because it has some plates doesn't mean it is heavy armor right?

The armor is definitely Nordic. Similar in design to the draugr armor and has the same kind of designs as on the cave wall.

I found some more information on Cathay...
Apparently Therris from The Real Barenziah was Cathay-raht, and he wasn't described as having the jaguar pattern. So there's that, for what it's worth.

I'm figuring armor isn't going to be divided, but this is just an assumption. Could work too, as it lessens the division of what constitutes for heavy, light, or medium. Or it could be going through the New Vegas route, which I would prefer. That way I won't be hindered by how I want my character to look!

And what you linked was more on "how do we solve the barbed [censored]" situation with khajiit.

A question that's always dwelt on my mind.

I kinda like this idea as well. As long as the armor is still boots, greaves, cuirass, gloves and helmet (possibly even pauldrons, bringing them back would be awesome!)

Hey Luke,

You're not some trolling Bethesda employee, are you? :)

I mean, you seem to know the answers to everything (like what pictures were going to post today) and you're right most of the time?

Nah, just looks like a normal Suthay Raht to me.

And I DON'T think removal of attributes is an excuse to make what should be an unbalanced-ly powerful race equal to everyone else, not that the Cathay Raht necessarily is this, I dunno, just my thoughts on the first reply.

I'm not seeing any characteristic jaguar patterns here, so no, I doubt this is a Cathay or Cathay-raht. Besides, even with attributes in the sense they were used in past games gone, I'm pretty sure races still get bonuses of some form or another (Presumably as skill bonuses and racial powers and abilities.) so the removal of attributes doesn't mean racial balance is not a factor, and I'd assume Bethesda still wants to keep Khajiit as a stealth race.

If this Khajiit seems bulkier than what we're used to, I'd say it's either an illusion produced by the armor, or body customization at work.

I was really hoping their fur would be white like a Siberian tiger :(

Do not be disappointed because Siberian tigers are not white ... this is wrong , the white tigers are a colour morph of any subspecies of tiger whose fur is white or almost white, though it is not a separate subspecies.

BTW I hope they have different legs than Humanoids and more like where in Oblivion ... they where way cooler that way ...

It amazes me how many people think this. Its blatantly obvious that they aren't based on a domestic style cats but are based on tigers & lions etc. I don't think a dogs are really on the same level to a tiger or a lion. Even wild dogs and family such as wolves, dingo, foxes or hyenas can't compare. Imagine keeping a tiger as a pet.

Its whether you are a tiger or lion lover. Thats what a Khajiits is based on. Not a domestic cat, lol

I didn't know Cathay had jaguar patterns. I thought they were just called "jaguar-men" for being large, fierce, and of course cat-like?

Is there any mention of that besides the Pocket Guide?
Because if not, I'm sure it could easily be addressed. There's bound to be wide variation in coat color and pattern anyways.

According to what I know of lore, the Cathay are the second largest of the Khajiit and look like tigers in their build, however do not have he spotted fur as their Cathay Raht brethren.

Sorry, can't verify that with a source. I pick up a lot of information, but can never remember from where. I'll see if I can find it though.

Umm... the Khajiit in Oblivion had very humanoid legs. In Morrowind their legs (along with the Argonians) were more animalistic (which, minus the odd and sily walking animation, I liked better).
