Cats...Synths?

Post » Mon Mar 07, 2016 1:02 am

According to lore, cats were hunted to extinction because they were an easy source of food. Not to mention, that the vermin that they used to prey on, mutated to become large enough to eat the cats. Radroaches, Molerats and Giant Rats would all kill and eat a cat no problem.

Large breed dogs survived the apocalypse because they were still useful to humans, and dogs form packs to protect themselves in the wild. Much safer chasing a cat for food, than to chase a dog and suddenly finding yourself running into the rest of it's pack (coyotes actually use this tactic).

Special Cat Agent Technician: Agent Whiskers, report!

Whiskers: *licks backside*

S.C.A.T: Repeat. Agent Whiskers, report!

Whiskers: *continues licking backside*

S.C.A.T: Whose bright idea was this "cat agent" thing, anyways?

Whiskers: *ferociously attacks a dust bunny*

There are alot of cats in the game and some are not owned. We should be allowe to hire cats in the settlements in the same way we do with dogs. Maybe it was a feature Bethesda had in mind, but left out for some reasons.

Cheers,

Check out Hawthorne's house in Diamond City. I think his mom likes cats a little. :)

They live on the upper stands, near the taphouse.

I remember talking to a woman in Klamath/ fallout 2 about cats being extinct. Only dogs remained without mutation.

Damn we are even suspicious of cats. Bloody synths

If I was working for Bethesda and I was reading this I'd put a cat in Far Harbor with a synth component in it.

I would welcome this addition.

I never found it but I've seen someone on the forum talking about it so I guess it's true...to be honest I never shot to brahmins.

I wonder if the Wasteland Workshop will allow us to capture cats for combat?

I personally think that cats are far too complicated to reproduce as a synth.

Bramins, Dogs, Gorillas... no problem.

Cats? No way.

CIA tried to use Cats as spies... horrible failure.

You can't simulate a Cat. Too many variables... you don't fully know a cat after living with it for ten years.

And that's exactly what makes them interesting...

The question isn't if you have a dog or a cat...

either you have a dog...

or a cat has you ;)

Ok.. so here's a thought. Does the cannibal perk allow you to eat dead synths?.. (the ones that look the most human) Because if you kill a cat or find a dead cat you get cat meat....if they've gotten that far in "cat synth technology" you'd think you would get meat from human synths as well. Since I never took the cannibal perk I have no idea if you can eat dead synths.

Exactly. This clip shows the difference between dog and cat thought processes.

As far as cats living in the Commonwealth goes, they were a easy source of food after the war so most of them were eaten by starving wastelanders. Also, there was some vaults that had cats for pets as proved by Vault 81. So most of the cats will have been killed off and vaults opening their doors would add cats back to the wasteland. The only question is whether there are groups of cat worshipers around the wasteland that protect cats from harm.

But the Railroad is already a bunch of cats with the way they're hiding. Kitty Railroad seems a bit repetitive, isn't it?

What if it is indeed the age of the cat, they are finally making there move and gettring rid of humans, except a few to fetch stuff for them like milk, or to be there jesters.

I shot the cat at Covenant. Just to see what it felt like. Didn't feel good. Had to load an earlier saved game to bring him back.
