I think dogs would benefit the citizens of Skyrim waaay more then a cat.

;)

Then again, I'm a dog lover.

Cats hunt vermin, and seeing as it's cold outside that means indoor rats (and other things) would be abundant.

Only if I can fill there food bowl with moon sugar and water with skooma.

I believe one of the Khajiits moon-baby things is a house cat.

Actually, there are dogs that can hunt vermin a lot better than cats.

Terriers! And they're cute :)

Instead of implementing two different sized dogs, they could just have dogs and cats..

Adding two types of dogs, one which won't be useful in a fight would be a spit in the face of anyone who likes cat.

Adding just cats. Is stupid.

Adding just dogs. I'd be perfectly fine with this.

Adding dogs and cats. Could work on many levels. Cats would add a feel of the place being alive *like children would* instead of just a bunch of advlts standing around. Plus if you kill someone's pet, they probably wouldn't KILL you over it, but they'd definitely hate you.

Adding Weasels pretty much mandatory.

If they were house cats in the game, I would seriously kill everyone I saw. The only good cat is a dead cat.

I think if they have regular domestic-like dogs, then regular small cats isn't a stretch. There are no (small) cats at all in Oblivion, and there are not even mentioned whatsoever (big or small) in either of the recent 2 Fallout games... I think cats would be a breath of fresh air in a BGS game. :P

Very true! My Rat Terrier got up to like twenty rabbit kills! And she did it just for fun. That little thing was a hunter killer missile with rodent seeking technology!

Edit: You could also use a ferret for hunting rats.

I have better luck with an iron dagger. Ferrets make too much noise when you swing therm.
