Caught in the Hunt

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 4:00 pm

I've gotten 2 keys and the only place showing up red is a door above the bridge that I can't reach even with the Boots of Spring Hill Jack. Can anyone tell me where I go from here? The other door says I need a key....

The door you noticed is a short cut on the way out. If you took a key off each of the two hunters, then the door at the end should work. There's a door back near the beginning that won't open until you get another key much later. The one that leads onward needs the two keys you have, and is past all the gas traps. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Fort_Grief

With only two keys so far, that would still be in the first level of the dungeon. The third key is in the next section, and Kurdan has the fourth.

You need to proceed through the fort, kill all the hunters and then confront Krudan. I recommend saving often since this is a particularly buggy quest.

I would elaborate on that last part by saying to make sure to have more than one save. Best policy on a quest like that is to have one save before going in, and new saves at each "accomplishment." That way you're not overwriting an earlier save with one that's just gone bugged.

Thanks Glargg to remind us how important it is to save in an appropriate manner. One save before entering is essential for me. I also save after each tough fight and also before leaving the place.

Like I didn't recommend "saving often" as well and first. Oh well, I guess I don't get no respect :(

I'm sure you understood that I was adding to, rather than "overwriting" your post. :) I believe that a lot of people "save often" but overwrite the same file. My addition to your excellent advice was in reference to that.

I'm just kidding of course. That's why I put the smiley. But I wasn't referring to your great post. It was just interesting that Chimpy thanked you (Glargg) personally, while ignoring my post just above.

Oh, that's because I accidentally cast my "Summon Chimpy" spell right after posting. ;)

(Now I've got two people mad at me! ;) )

Sorry for my lack of respect toward your Majesty... LOL. But you are right in the sense that you were the first to draw our attention on saving often. I read too quickly and jump on Glargg's answer because he usually makes me laugh. So I said to myself, smiling: Ah Glargg.. What is he saying today. Let's see. And it's the reason why I forgot the previous answers. Please forgive me.
But from now on I promise to read your posts from A to Z...

I really like this quest; especially at higher levels when I'm decked out. The hunters become the hunted.

This quest was the closest I've ever been to tears whilst playing a game.
