Cazador

Post » Sun Feb 14, 2010 5:58 pm

Are cazadors incredibly over powered or am I just not man enough for then?
Also I'm 18 hours in to the game and the loading times have been increasing throughout my play time ,and my game is very laggy during combat ex. pip-boy takes 5 seconds to come up or my guns won't switch.
I'm on the 360.
I really hope this gets fixed soon so I can play this great game to its full potential.

I think that the Cazadors are OP to. It seems like it takes forever to kill them and they can hit you a few times and you are dead.

Well, I ran into one at level three, so I can't really speak to overpoweredness. But that's what I've been hearing - that they're pretty unstoppable at many levels of experience. Scary as hell to boot.

Me: :ahhh: at people using the word "overpowered".
I like 'em.
An enemy does not need to be big as a Mr House to be dangerous.
Cazadors proved that.

Yeah, the load times have become almost unbearable at this point. it takes like 10 minutes just to get to Contreras form the outside. I plan on making like a half dozen role play builds, but the lag and load times are killing me.

Hmm, Incinerator + knowing how to aim one for good effect + good tactics + Eddy's perk = Easy Pete.
I mowed down around 8 of them, but then 5 more came out of nowhere and killed Raul in like 3 seconds.
Which made me reload...
A great tip: If you're going to hunt them, don't use companions.

The Cazadores are relatively easy to kill when they're alone or in 2 or 3 insect groups (provided that you're on sufficient enough level). Once they are more numerous, they start to be a broblem. I found them pleasantly hard to hit in real time combat, but as allways, VATS makes the job even too easy at times.

Shoot their wings off first. It stuns them and makes them move much slower.

Yeah in HCM they die, in Casual they just get knocked out, Mass Effect style.

THIS! People, I've walked into that camp at the end of that canyon with at least half a dozen if not 10 caz, all you need to do is cripple the wings. then you can walk circles around them killing as you please.

Same with the fire ants, you just need to find the biggest soldier and critically hit his antennae. The rest of the group swam them leaving you free to fire into the mass with impunity, maybe even cripple a few more antennae for a real mosh pit of ants.

Deathclaws though, now there's some overpower even after you cripple their legs.

Well it ain't easy to shoot off their wings if you don't use VATS, like me. (Still won't use it.)

You need to learn what attacks work against what enemies.

Cazadors are fast as hell and hit HARD. But they can't stand up to getting shot hard and fast.

They have a low DT and a lot of HP. So use a high rate of fire weapon with small damage per-bullet.

Do NOT use your sniper guns, or your high-DAMAGE but low rate of fire weapons. You'll get mauled.

Bust out a minigun, or a fully-auto small gun. You will destroy them. Switch to the right ammo, and they are [censored] mincemeat. How do I know this? Experimentation.

I can see how this is confusing to people, even Fallout 3 vets, where DT doesn't quantify.

On my gunslinger-type character I slot like this:

1- Melee
2- switch ammo (this is unchangable)
3- High DAM, low DPS - medium range -best revolver I have
4- Low Dam - High DPS - medium range - best SMG I have
5- High DAM, low DPS - short range - best double -barrel shotgun I have
6- Low DAM, high DPS - short range - best single -barrel shotgun I have
7 - High Dam - low DPS - medium range - best sniper rifle I have
8 - whatever fun toy I just found

So, if you're a gunner, you have like 6-7 guns slotted throughout the game, and 3-4 ammo choices per gun. That means 18-28 choices of HOW to shoot an enemy.

I happen to love it.

But you have to understand the system to appreciate it fully.

I didn't have much trouble with them until I found a cazador nest.
I don't remember off the top of my head where it was, but there were a ton of them. I died... a lot.
