Cazadores > Behemoths

Just curious about how you approach the giant, annoying wasps and their ludicrous poison damage. Is stacking up on antivenom and healing consumables the only way? I seldom use VATS and even when I use it they always manage to sting, and without antivenoms it's really difficult to recover from the poison effect in hardcoe mode because of delayed healing, especially when it stacks. It's kinda awkward to spend most of my consumables against a little group of bees while other inhabitants of Mojave wasteland offer much less resistance. :sadvaultboy:

Those little groups of bees are the apex predator in the region.

I usually snipe them, light their wings up to [censored] or blow them up with some nice ol' grenades. I've never tried meleeing them though, usually avoid them on my legion character.

They are pretty awesome enemy to fight, so are the nightstalkers when they come in large packs.

But it is more like Kimera > Behemoths.

The Laser RCW with a high EW skill usually takes them down before they can get too close.

I actually saw something really funny today when I was exploring for the "Discover 135 locations trophy". I saw a small town being attacked by fiends and cazadors at the same time. All the unarmed townsfolk where trying to get away from the Fiends who were trying to get away from the Cazadors, and it made me rofl. The Fiends never stood a chance, and then the Cazadors finished off the townsfolk.

Anyway, I usually run the other way

VATS works fine against Cazadors, you just need to use a weapon with a low AP cost. I've taken to using Trail Carbine, and it works pretty well, although a Marksman Carbine might be even more effective; I've not tried it yet. Use HP ammo.

Off-VATS, I recommend using SMGs or a Riot Shotgun. Laser RCW if you're an energy weapons guy.

they die rather quickly with a silences .22 submachine gun with hollowpoint rounds.

i use this technique alot, so cazadores dont bug me... pun not intended.

Either pick them off with a high powered rifle before they notice you, or use the hunting shotgun with magnums and hope there's less than 8 of them rushing you at the same time.

Its not overkill when there's 7 of them in one nest.

I usually carry Annabelle (unique Missile Launcher) around for those little b*stards, massive explosions>>>Cazadors.

While I usually don't mind challenging enemies these things are a bit over the top even for me, and I am very tempted to mod either their damage rate or the amount of poison resistance obtainable in-game. I've managed to resist the temptation so far because 1) I always carry at least one Anti-venom at all times, and 2) there really aren't all that many places where you actually run into them.

Dinner Bell works out really great for em unless you dont take them all out in one round and have to re-load. Your pretty much screwed then.

I make sure to have Ed-e with me so I can see the red dots from extra far away. You can always tell if the dots are Cazadores because they move back and forth fast. Then I either snipe them in the wings from a hidden crouched spot with the Gobi+JSP or when I did my explosives/unaramed play through I used annabelle with either the HV or HE rockets. Also the C-Finder is nice for nuking several at once. Then if you get some up on you at close range and no vats to use, use the Light Machine Gun with AP bullets and the clip modded to hold 90, you can mow em down on one clip

I try to spot them from far away (this is fairly easy - their bright orange wings and their rapidly moving red ticks on the compass give them away, but OTOH they have high Perception so they can easily spot you), get into Sneak, and tag them with the Hunting Rifle or Trail Carbine from long range. Having ED-E as a companion is very, very helpful. Once they close the gap, I switch over to a shotgun or a 10 mm SMG to try to finish them off.

If you have Veronica as a companion and you're playing hardcoe, switch her over to ranged attack as soon as you spot the Cazadors. Also make sure she has a powerful ranged weapon and plenty of ammo for it (my Veronica is currently using the Q35 Matter Modulator). Otherwise she wades into the middle of them to punch them to death and usually dies.

Cazadors don′t have DT, so normal bullets or hollow points are better then AP when it comes to cazadors :celebration:
