Cazadors nerfed in the latest patch

Post » Mon May 03, 2010 7:33 pm

If you read the thread, it seems like all they've done is reduce the attack distance, from "Somehow stab you from 2 metres away using evil bee telekinesis" to "Stab you from within a range where the stabbing animation will actually connect with your character". I kind of doubt the extra 1.5m travel distance is going to hugely impact on them.

All the "Cazadores should be DEADLY this is a victory for nubs" stuff seems to just be people trying to use a cosmetic change as an excuse for 'hardcoe' posturing.

They acted like the suicidal animals from Fallout 3 that would run across an entire cell to attack you before the patch. That's not nerfing, it's good design.

Very true. Cazadors shouldn't attack from a mile away, only when someone invades their personal space.

I don't think so... I think its just a long term "burned before" feeling (whether or not its accurate or deserved). If it really just is a reduced range, and seems right in the game then that's great; fine by me.

I just remember all of those 'terrible, overpowered cazadoors' posts, and it had me assuming they were hobbled even before I read the opening post.

Oh, they havent nerfed the damage, it just akes that half a second more for them to be in range ot stab you. Get a couple after you and you are still screwed. Their damage and health is all the same, it just make the animation match up with the distance.

I recently found the god of all weapons for dealing with cazadors, Gatling Laser, i can get whole swarms flying at me and take thme out with that.

So they took one of the enemies that is actually a challenge and nerfed it?
I'm so happy that I think I just soiled myself. <_<

Oh wait, you mean it's not the range in which they actually sting you that was shortened; but the range in which they initiate hostilities? Hmmm, I guess it makes sense.

I wouldn't know to be honest. I put unique named weapons in the chest at the foot of your Lucky 38 suite, and I only used basic ammo (Minus .45-w/e hollow rounds). I'm waiting till GotY comes out, so I'm still playing the VERY base game.

So are lions and hyenas and they don't rush humans half a mile away just because they're there. Besides which, Cazadores hunt tarantulas.

They didn't nerf anything you lackwit. They changed their engagement behavior to match every other enemy in the game.

I consider that a nerf.
They used to be an enemy with eagle sight that would spot you and hunt you down from far far away.
That was a good thing about them.
Made them fearsome.
Unique in their behavior.
Changing that to match other enemies is a nerf IMO.

Cazadors are not real you lackwit. They are mutated tarantula hawks. (which are may times smaller) Since there are no 5ft long tarantulas to hunt in the mw, I take it they hunt what they want. Mutated creatures are not suppose to act like real life. Even in real life wasps get a little weary if you go by there nests.

Did they kill you too many times or something? Fo will turn into sims soon enough. Devs catering to crybabies. Its been going on for years.

They never stung me from a half mile away. There bodies are like 5 feet long, they would twist in mid air sometimes to get full extension. They reminded me of a real wasp.

BOOOO HOOOOO I have to think to survive or my Uber God might get hurt

I dunno, I had a crazy thing happen where the swarm never ended...completely over powered...everytime since, a tough opponent, but no problem. I think there was probably a "bug" with them....as I couldn't believe the non stop swarm that was at the brewing house in the hills...

Ehh....much less of a nerf and more like making them work properly. Why should an enemy that flies be able to use a melee attack from 5 feet away. Plus...Riot Shotgun owned them pretty easily. As long as they still do that thing where they come from the back and sting you virtually taking away all but one health while ignoring armor...then I am fine. Always like how they could do that.

I liked the mean ol' Cazoes. If my character can melee from 5 feet away the bugs should be able to, too.

Is it just me, or are there a lot less Cazadores as well? There weren't any at all in the dry dock on the lake after the patch. Or is it just random?

I've been to the dock a few times and there wasn't any cazadores (was on the way to Bitter Springs.) On the way back they were all over that place.

So what's with people complaining about them being weakened when before every other thread you saw was people whining about them being to hard. Personally I like that feeling of borderline crapping myself everytime I see a pack a cazadors or deathclaws pop around a corner.

If you look in those threads you ll see one II The Rook II in there telling them to think, and that they were not over powered, and to stop crying. I lost though.......

Now I'm confused. On one end, I'm hearing the commando-lunging days of Cazadores are over. On the other hand, I hear people saying they don't actively attack you from halfway across the planet like they should. WHICH IS IT????? I'm lost.....

I never got stung from longer than their body length, and I had no problem with their behavior. They were fine......

The Cazadores are still mean as hell and twice as deadly. I guess it makes sense that they don't now have an in-built sniper scope? With a shorter reaction range they become deadlier I think. Seeing as you're far more likely to encounter more than ones detection range now, instead of just the one attacking you and the rest reacting to the shots.. More will pick you up in the first place?
