Cazadors nerfed in the latest patch

Post » Mon May 03, 2010 10:09 pm

I will try to maintain my cool, because I'm very and uterelly p*** off. The latest 1.3 patch nerfed Cazadors, they aren't a shadow of what they used to be.

The latest patch shortened the minimun distance they needed to be for stinging you, meaning that they need to be really, but really close to be able to attack you.
Remeber when a Cazador was in your face, really close to you?
You know you'll be stinged and you know that is better having an antivenom ready for use.

Not anymore.

I'm sad, really sad about this.

Wait they nerfed Cazadors in the patch, sweet. :celebration: :celebration: :celebration:

Although if it's overkill I'll :swear:

I don't care much one way or the other about them being nerfed. They never posed much of a problem for me, regardless, but my only complaint about them was that they moved too quick to get a good bead on, heh. Other than that, they still die in one shot.

Fine with me. Used be to I had to rely on VATS against those OP'd little buggers and, as someone who absolutely despises VATS, perhaps I can deal with them manually now.

Well, considering that they could be 5 ft. from even touching me and yet I still got stung, I'm glad they shortened it a bit. The sting is a melee attack, not ranged. I only hope that companions are either immune to poison or can actually use anti-venom (or at least use a gorram stimpack without killing them.)

-Sigh- This is what all the whiners do. They puff out their chest going 'I'm a tough guy I beat this game in a day, needs more challenge.' Then when a real challenge approaches, they come to the forums and go 'OH NO NO NO THEY OVERPOWERED NERF THEM!'

-Puts on old man face- Back in my day, Cazadore were actually a tough mean sum' gun. Nowadays them kids is to afraid of a REAL challenge.

-shakes head and grumbles about the good old days in the Mojave Wasteland.-

Anyone (on PC) who has not patched can export the original values as a mod, yes?

IMO that maybe should have been optional. The first thing that helped cement my liking the game, was while testing my own power armor mod on my first PC, and getting torn to bits by the first creatures that I encountered outside of the play pen (Green Springs) ~a pair of Cazadors.

I can't wait until flying enemies can actually, you know.... fly. As in swoop down from above, swarming from all directions if you got stupid and pissed off a nest. Yes sir, back in my day we also had irradiated dust storms. Yep *corn cob pipe*

*It will be nice when they can move in 3D... I got spoiled on the ships in Homeworld, and anything less that 3D movement for flying enemies is disappointing.

I prefer the mean sum um a [censored] caz's. You could tell when they would strike, prepair a block or dodge and counter. Now they need to be standing in front of you buzzing "Hey hit me."

Yes, I'm on a PC, I will mod the old value and upload the file to the Nexus.
I'm just testing it right now to see if it's ok, they only changed the game radius a Cazador begin his attack for sting you.

With their speed, I'm not sure how much the shortened attack radius matters. You're still best off not letting them close.

They acted like the suicidal animals from Fallout 3 that would run across an entire cell to attack you before the patch. That's not nerfing, it's good design.

Aww, I liked the old Mojave Rapist Bee.

They should stop screwing around with ingame elements, just fix bugs. Energy weapons were the only thing that needed improving, but apart from that, there would be nothing dangerous stopping me from running the gantlet straight to Vegas from Goodsprings, apart from one wimpy deathclaw, if the cazadors were weakened.

Cazadors were 2 inches long and docile in the Good ol' days in the Mojave Wasteland.

They weren't weakened. At all.

So is that poison/companion/stimpack bug fixed? I haven't gotten around to testing that.

They were never a major problem for me, beyond using up a lot of ammo because of firing while backpedaling like crazy (messing up my wing-aim) but were definitely annoying/dangerous when you triggered a mass swarm of them.

Yes, the poison/companion/stimpack was fixed, the only odd behaviour is that the health a stimpack adds to your companion is not immediately displayed in the wheel, you need to apply the stim, close the wheel and enter again to see the effects.
But it was corrected, when you or them use a stimpack their health are not subtracted anymore.

Yah I'm looking forward to what Skyrim has to offer with the new engine. It would show what would be possible in the next Fallout. I wonder if Todd Howard is finally going to get what he wanted from Gamebryo ... character animations on ladders. I remember reading about how that just broke the gamebryo engine. Also with two handed wielding I can finally have my character left handed like I am.

Ha! I never thought of that. That's pretty neat. I hope you can choose your strong hand and off hand. (or a perk called ambidextrous .)

If this is true its another classic example of crybabies getting their way. The Cazador was never overpowered I m pretty sure it had 0 dt.

If you travel with ed e (a surveillance drone) you could spot them a mile away. 2 carefully place vats rounds from a silenced scoped weapon into the antenna of one would frenzy it.

Then they start weakening and killing each other, all the while you could just keep sniping away. By the time they came for you they were pretty weak and smaller in number. A LMG or mini gun made short work of them. A assault carbine worked well enough too.

Its a shame if this is true. One less danger in post apocalyptia.
