I was only level 10 and had no problems killing Cazadores. I was using the YCS/186 so that probably explains things. Super sledges work good too if you don't mind getting close. Long range weapons probably work best, pick a few off then switch to a closer range weapon and mow them down. Probably easier said then done mind you.

You are better off cowering in a corner wishing for God to smite the Cazadores.

You have to be cautious and take them out in small numbers, like by snipe aggroing them. and keeping your companions close.

I was trying to go to Jacobstown, and every rout i tried to take i found a huge pack of Cazadors. I was level 11, and not even Veronica and Rex could hold them off. A few stings and the poison killed me after i tried to restore my health. I had to run away and start a different quest,

those things are deadly, man.

just stay on the road to jabocstown and u will be fine ,u may have to deal with bighorn and mantises only.

At level 7 after nipton I decided I was going vegas. Fasest route straight from goodsprings cemetery. My best weapon 9mm sub this is on hard hardcoe no followers. Now I did die like 17 time by Cazadors and deathclaws, but this made me happy. I made it..

Please don t cry about stuff that could kill u in a post nuclear war game. Next thing you know there won t be any people or creatures that could kill u, and we might as well go play sims. They are difficult if you r a low level and that my friend is a good thing.

they're tough, early in the game use a 9 pm on em, lots of ammo for that and use drugs like psycho, med x, anti venom if you have it, but also the marksman rifle or any high rate of fire weapon outside of vats is good against them, the gauss rifle isn't good against em, its too slow.

no it is not overpowered. Things in this game must be able to kill you. It was your decision to make a melee charecter. Nothing in nv is overpowered but u

I just fetched the cazador eggs for Red Lucy, and cleared out a bunch of them in the wilderness area near Jacobstown getting there.

ED-E with the weapon upgrade, Veronica on ranged with a Laser RCW, scoped Trail Carbine with HP rounds, Assault Carbine and Hunting Shotgun with Magnum loads, and plenty of antivenom.

Oh, and this little mod here, which works around the companion poison bug. It was a lifesaver.

Cazadores have no DT and travel in swarms.
Thus, high DPS w/large mags are the ticket.

My personal favorite is the LMG w/big drums loaded w/hollow points.

I used to avoid Cazadores, but armed with my LMG (and 100 guns skill & 8 STR),
I go Cazador hunting.

This is a multifunction gun.
Instead of carrying a "Cazodor" gun, the LMG will take anything in the game out.

w/AP ammo: Ranger Vets, BOS Paladins, and Deathclaws are no problem
w/HP ammo: Groups of Cazadores go down in a hurry
w/standard ammo: Critters, Legionaries, Thugs, Fiends, Viper Gunslingers, etc.

I don't have dead money yet, but I would love to get my hands on the BAR

you should wound one of their wings first, then they can't really fly all too well and since they have no ranged attacks you can just pump lead into them with them crawling towards you. Problem solved.

I agree that they're a little overpowered. I'm on normal hardcoe and had poisoning issues with Boone. Now I just leave him behind and take ED-E with me. I found HP with a silenced sniper has no effect on them. I've done a clear hit in vats and no hp is taken. If I use regular ammo, I can usually bring down 1 advlt/one shot. Then I break out the fire axe and melee

THEY R NOT OVERPOWERED OR IMPOSSIBLE. They r fine things in the game must have a chance of killing u. Use a different tactic. I play on hard/hardcoe u don t here me crying about too hard. Pretend its you.... are u going to try to kill them with an axe???? Pretend it was you thats all I m saying.

Aim for the wings in vats.

Don't finish the kill immediately once the wings are done. Proceed to cripple the wings on the next one.

Use a fast firing weapon. Doesn't have to be an SMG (good choice though); a Cowboy Repeater for example will do the job. Any sort of Sniper is just asking for death.

Combat Shotgun works wonders and yelling mama helps! You could also yell s.. a lot. :) Another weapon I found to help is the missile launcher. One other thing get up high if you can, they only fly at ground level.

Nah, they aren't so bad. A Hunting Shotgun with a choke and slugs will work nicely on them, V.A.T.S. or otherwise.

The thing that bugs me (pun intended) is that http://www.eversostrange.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/TarantulaHawk.jpg.

I love and hate them, they provide a good challenge but sometimes the are too challenging. Yesterday for example I was heading towards Vault 22 with Veronica. We run into a few of them and it wasn't to hard to kill them.I keep walking and to my surprise once I get over a hill there's 7 of them charging me.I turn around to look for Veronica and shes no where to be found. The only reason I survived is because I ran backwards and unloaded with my Cowboy Repeater.

Major problems for my sniper characters I will admit, but whenever I use my unarmed/melee characters they just turn into mush for some reason. I tried using a YCS/186 and kept missing and got owned lol.
