Must have been tough at Crytek when the deadline was approaching and they knew the game wasn't really fit to release. I've no doubt the people there would have been working insanely hard to get the game sorted. On first playthrough there was a lot that was awesome but there were also many bugs that took the shine off the game.
The ongoing support was good though and the DX11 and texture upgrade took the title to a new level - I have to say it stands as one of the best games I've ever played. I've just finished my 3rd playthrough of the campaign a few days ago - collected all the souvenirs, dogtags, emails and keys etc (only got 99.7% 'cos I only got 12 of the 13 weapon attachments "bah"). The scale, story, music and design is top notch and well worth the cash. The MP was also more fun than I was expecting.
I think the developers can be proud of the game as it stands despite the remaining niggles. Hopefully sales will continue to rise and it will become a testbench title for the PC.
