Cha-Ching

Have they said anything about changing everything with gold? In oblivion it was way too easy to get a ton of gold... even without using a glitch/mod... I kinda liked that but at the same time it wasn't a challenge at all as I could just go to the Market District and buy all the best gear... any news on how gold will show up in Skyrim?

No news on that, to me anyways, but it's likely that it will be harder to earn gold in Skyrim.

I hope so... they did say that there is more of an economy in Skyrim... so we probably can't just keep selling really expensive items... more like a fallout type economy where they actually have a certain amount of money and once you've gotten all their money you can't sell to them anymore...

Should be... sadly it is not... it is "The sound that a cash register makes when its drawer is closed after money has been put inside. Used in conversation to indicate that the person being spoken about is going to or already has made quite a profit at little expense." from Urban dictionary...

But then it should be more like...."Ptrrrrt Pt Pt ptrrrrrrrt cacAA!...(ing) BAM!...(ing)".

I guess that's just the short term to use it...

Money in Chinese is 錢 (traditional) or 钱 (simplified). :D

Gods' bless Firefox and it's amazing language support...

Anyways, I've always wondered...what's the difference between traditional chinese and simplified? And why was the "simplified" version created anyway?

It must only be me, or I must have terrible money management skills, but I never have had that much gold in Oblivion. I remember having somewhere between 25 and 30k, and thinking that was a lot, until I purchased a home somewhere and ended up having like 1k or less the rest of the game.

Which is why I'm playing an Imperial in Skyrim. Hopefully that perk for them finding more gold will help me out and is actually in game and not just a rumor, because I'm always poor as [censored] in Bethesda games.

It's most likely going to be like that, but hopefully their gold won't automatically refill in 3 days, because in Fallout: 3 there was a notorious exploit in which you just waited 3 days and sold things and then wait another 3 days and sell more things, in Skyrim this will in theory, should be fixed.

if you do really care, wiki explains it pretty well. I'm not the best at explaining these things.

That's not really an exploit, that's just how it works. How else do you want it to work? You can't have them running out of gold and then never refilling.

but still... they've got to do something to reduce how easy it is to get gold...

really? I just made sure I mastered light and heavy armor as early as possible... pretty easy when all you are fighting is rats... then just take all the armor I can find and sell it...

Never even thought of that for Fallout 3... if there really is an actualy economy in Skyrim... they will probably get money when other people come to them and buy stuff... honestly this is the only way it could be really realistic...

Well, that makes it too easy to make money, although it would be logical if their amount of gold went up by a bit from previous NPC purchases, I suppose that could work.

If you're gone for 3 days, you'd assume that other NPCs would've come in and bought stuff by then.

What the hell? What planet do you live on?

As to the question, I would like to see gold slightly harder to obtain (with respect to prices), and/or merchants offering items that are more valuable (and expensive). By that I mean, alongside the generic items, also offering more powerful magic items for a high price.

But in Fallout: 3, their amount of money went up by the hundreds, so hopefully in Skyrim their gold should go up by 10/100 gold. (We don't know if the value of gold has gone up or down in Skyrim)

Nerd language? "Cha ching" has been a well known part of the normal English language for decades. It's extremely common. I can't imagine a person with English as their first language not knowing this word.

Correction, the noise an OLD cash register makes. They go "beep deet" now.

"Cha ching" has been a house hold phrase for nearly two decades. If your 15yrs old or younger, yeah i can see you not knowing about it.

From the urban dictionary:
4. Cha-Ching

An exclamation connoting elation over a success or personal triumph of some kind, which was coined by the actor Seth Green, in 1992, in a Wendy's commercial - after which it spiraled off into existence becoming one of the more hackeneyed expressions of the 90s.

Well, sorry for being a foreigner then :P

And I've studied english since I was a kid, and never ever heard those words. If you tell me that's slang, well...then it's like if I tell you that "me cagüen dena" is common spanish (well...it pretty much is, in the other hand).

You should have said that English wasn't your first language. You said "nerd language", implying that you do speak English, and that most English speakers don't know the words "cha ching", and those that do are "nerds".
