It has been in the process of being made for like 3 years, it's been delayed more than once too

One of the biggest problems that i see right of the start with this game is the scoreboard. The scoreboard is total trash, you cant expect people to like it when you have like two stats on it. :banghead:

It just does not make sense, you need more stats, people want to see what they do in the game, who is the best, whose the guy who got the most this and the most that.

It doesn't have to be k/d but something maybe how many objectives planted or destroyed or accomplished. The scoreboard is definitely the weakest part of the game that i see right now.

Better to get it right than release it pre maturely. Now its already been shipped out to retail stores so no more delays :D

first off mods, im not trolling , plz take the time to read before locking.....

so, who wants to bet for bragging rights? i say this game will FAIL. it will FAIL not because it will be a bad game , but because alot of ( console ) players aren't ready for a game STRICTLY on team-play.

i guarantee on release, ppl will complain and say how much this game svcks. i also predict a metacritic score no higher than 79.

so if u accept my "bet" , just sign here and ill bump this thread on release date to look back at all those who accepted the bet post-release. if im wrong , ill admit it.

discuss por favor . again , NO TROLLING intended.

I think you are wrong, friend

It will be good because it will FAIL not because it will be a bad game , but because alot of ( console ) players will try to compare it to CoD when they svck, and will quit. aren't ready for a game STRICTLY on team-play.

Someone from SD somewhere said that the end-of-round scoreboard would give awards/otherwise indicate specific 'best-of' categories.

I wonder how Naedae feels now that we've made him regret questioning this game's success.

Well i hope they do something more with the scoreboard cuz as of right now it seems they were lazy and just left it way to basic. 100 percent without a doubt the scoreboard has to be better to increase the visual appeal of the game at the end of the matches at least.

we at least need to try. i am all about team play and find it the most rewarding part of MP, aside from the challenge of fighting living thinking enemies. even if brink has a small amount of players, i would prefer it over floods of camper-sniper-wookie-lone-wolf-travesties-of-MP-gamers

I define home front as a failed game. Brink has a lot more going for it then HF ever did so I just don't see it failing. Granted it wont do COD numbers but then no game can do cod's numbers. The name of the game for long term success is called post game support, or DLC and lots of it. If we don't hear about any kind of dlc by july or early august then the game will slowly start to "tapir" off. (lol :D )

alot of ( console ) players

So your suggesting that console players are mindless dribbling retards that don't function as a team as well as the PC gamer master race, eh?

I am playing it neutral until release.

This game looks great to me but doesn't look to be for everyone.

I enjoy first person shooters, I enjoy rpg games and rpg elements in any game, I enjoy customization. But I hate bad net code, exaggerative lag compensation, and after Homefront released a rushed product I am very wary of all gaming companies now

Hoping for the best.

Define "fail."

Fail in the financial sense? In the high review score sense? If a game comes out and doesn't sell well and doesn't get rave reviews, but I still enjoy it regardless, even if it was riddled with glitches, did it fail?

anyways i agree with HyperNT about the score board being bad/boring.
also, REALLY guys? claiming you'll " love the game" without playing yet is ABSURD and u know it.

What others say doesn't influence my feelings about anything in real life or virtual,it's a matter of taste, different for everyone.
I respect others opinion,i'd like the same from others.

I read pre-views before i buy a game, doesn't mean anything really,i know the "games" they play under the table..it's capitalism baby.
I read reviews after release, same thing.
Other than that as i said,if i like it i really don't care, for the console comment i don't think they are limited on anything,np there for me at least.

If we want to enjoy a game we can create the atmosphere, the only "challenge" i see is too keep our logic and accept others different views/opinions without flaming.

Not really. Many of the members here are very informed on the game, and have seen countless videos on it - enough to form an educated guess on whether or not they will enjoy the game. Players do this all the time, it's not some strange phenomenon. When Borderlands was in development, I did my homework and researched the game. I knew I would like when it came out - it's now one of my favorite games.

This. ^^^^^
That's why many of us are absolutely sure that even if the game gets fail sales and rating, we will still enjoy the game.

This thread does not encourage positive discussion on Brink, but rather satisfaction in the form of "I told you so".

I see no reason for this thread to be here.

Disagreed.

I knew I'd love Assassin's Creed before I played it.
I knew I'd love Alpha Protocol before I played it (in spite of the massive amount of bugs, glitches, and issues, it's a fun game. I still pick it up and play.
I knew I'd love Arkham Asylum before I played it.
I knew I'd love Transformers: War for Cybertron before I played it.
I knew I'd love Prototype before I played it.
I knew I'd like Infamous before I played it (Prototype was more fun for me, but Infamous is pretty awesome too).
I knew I'd love Red Faction: Guerrilla before I played it.

Actually, I haven't made a wrong call about a game where I've expected to love it yet. I've made a handful of "that looks like it could be pretty good" calls that were proven wrong, but unless I've been confident, I haven't spent money on those ones anyway, so I'm happy with my record so far.
