I challenge ANYONE to a bet.......

Post » Tue Jun 22, 2010 11:04 am

first off mods, im not trolling , plz take the time to read before locking.....

so, who wants to bet for bragging rights? i say this game will FAIL. it will FAIL not because it will be a bad game , but because alot of ( console ) players aren't ready for a game STRICTLY on team-play.

i guarantee on release, ppl will complain and say how much this game svcks. i also predict a metacritic score no higher than 79.

so if u accept my "bet" , just sign here and ill bump this thread on release date to look back at all those who accepted the bet post-release. if im wrong , ill admit it.

discuss por favor . again , NO TROLLING intended.

Though you don't mean to come off trolling, your insulting a lot of console players and on xbox, just calling someone a name will set them off like a firecracker. Tread lightly when you are talking to people you don't know because some people may have anger issues and that can lead to some bad situations. :spotted owl:

In my opinion there are several team- play games out on consoles. Such as Bad Company/ TF 2/ Left for dead? and so on. However there will be the players who will play this like a COD game and try to go lone wolf. So probably just find a good group of friends who understand the team play and have fun.

You see this is where you're wrong. There are gamers out there who have missed something in games. They've missed something in the multiplayer that just ruins it...I can't name what it is but it's there. Brink, for me, has already filled that void. I don't care how many people are going to hate it when it comes out. This is the very essence of cooperative play.

You are obviously not ready for the likes of Brink, although i do get your point, console wise killzone 3 tried the team aspect and it was lost but team fortress didnt fail.

I'm not sure if your a console player yourself but one thing you must realise is that any gamer loves a challange sure some may hate it at first but the pain of not completing the game will eat at them. and the more they play the better they get and then clans start a rolling and Bam!! you've lost your bet.

Shadowrun is still kicking, almost 4 years after release. You're going to lose.

*Note: I don't care if this game drops down to 50 dedicated players. It's the dedicated fanbase that I want to play with.

I'll bet that it gets more than a 79%. You say a lot of console players aren't ready for team-based games? BFBC2 nuff said. Now I'm not saying that that game means we're great at teamwork, because compared to PC players, we aren't, but we have to start somewhere. And there will ALWAYS be people that will complain that a game svcks, no matter how good it is, so this part of your statement is completely invalid.

No ohk sniper headshots, No ohk knives, No K:D ratio, forced teamplay?

I am so on the fence on this game its scary. I refuse to bet because its too 50:50 for me. Could be the best game ever, and it could fail so hard that it kills any innovation in the FPS world. I'm intrigued, I will buy this game on release, but I fear I won't like it. Hopefully this allows me to enjoy it immensely since I won't have built up this idea that the game is the ultimate fps before release.

I'll just play with bots if it was a fail, screw everyone else that can't handle it. They're probably CoD players.

I agree that every twelve year old COD tryhard will hate this game.

But Splash Damage is not looking to reel those kind of players in; they're looking for the small, tight-knit community fanbase that will play Brink for years to come.

Brink is for mature, social folk who have more fun working together than lone-wolfing it. If not being able to successful lone wolf is your definition of failure, I will eat that kind of "failure" all day long, because I (and many other people here) will have fun with that kind of "failure", and therefore Brink will be a success for Splash Damage and for us fans of Brink.

And that is all that matters to me, and to Splash Damage, and for the other fans of Brink. So you go on with your doom-and-gloom predictions.

If you bought it, Splash Damage has the last laugh anyway, 'cause they have your money. Crai moar nub?

Define fail. I will enjoy the game regardless of what the metacritic score ends up being. If you consider a game to have failed because people said bad things about it on the internet after release then no game has ever succeeded.

Uh, many console players focus on team-based play. Look at the Battlefield, Halo, hell even COD Zombies. They all have players that like to have teamwork.

Will this game be one of the greatest games ever, that I'm not sure of, but I believe it will do well enough to be a great success. It will not fail.

I dunno man, gamers seem to be hungry for some innovation, and Brink is pretty innovative. Will there be players bashing the game on day one because it isn't COD? Hell to the effing yeah, but that's not important. I still remember some bashing Rainbow Six: Vegas because it didn't play like Halo (yeah, no kiddin' Captain Obvious). The real question is how receptive metacritics will be to Brink since they perpetuate the status quo of games. It's hard to argue that metacritics like gamespot and gamespy aren't a major proponent in propelling franchises to the status they hold.

But of course, metacritics could say one thing and gamers (as a community) can say another. I really hope the game does well in sales, not only because it's Brink but because it's innovative. We're just gonna see a whole lot of stagnation in FPS if innovation isn't encouraged. With that said, hope the metacritics are playing Brink with an open mind and not with COD goggles on.

Aye if you want to judge it on pre order sales, the #2 US pre order is BRINK for XBOX 360. Its only behind gears of war 3, which is pretty good for a smaller company like SD.

My friend and I have been waiting our entire FPS life for a good team based game like this. Reason why we abandoned the CoD franchise and picked up Killzone 2. We thrive on teamwork. We are two hands of the same body. In sync and out of control.

I'm loving this community. I have seen little console v console arguments. My Brink brethren (xBox) have sympathized with our (PSN) network failure. We are in this together. TAKE YOUR SWORD AND FIGHT! So saying that this game isn't going to do well on console (the only way is no ded. servers could be a flaw) is an insult to the communities.

I support Splash Damage, I support Bethseda, I support gamers. Of all race, religion, six, and platform.
