Challenge mode after ending

I've been thinking about a way to allow people to use their char after beating the game while not making what happens at the end to feel pointless and i think i might have something that can be agreed by by both the people who want a definite end to the game and those who want to continue playing afterwords.

If you've played a rachet and clank game till the end you'll have a good ideal of what i'm saying, basiclly after the final cutscene and the credits roll have a menu pop up asking if the player would like to either be.

A- "Sent back in time" to the point of no return where they can instead go wander the wastes and complete anything they need to.

B- Start the game over but they get to keep all their exp, money, weapons, armor, ammo, etc where they wake up back in the Doc's house (maybe given the choice to change their char's name and look) but skip the special and tag skill parts and are sent back into the wastes with all the quests (even campion ones) reset and all campions sent back to their where ever they were before you picked them up, also all repution would be reset to the default.

So choice B would be like starting over while keeping items, level, and perks but having to redo everything else.

Although there are two things i'm going a little back and forth about which are.

1. Weither to actually change the spawns in low level areas to something a little tougher since you are using an end game char or to just leave the enemies as they are.

2. How to handle all the items most people will have stored in who knows how many crates in who knows how many different safe houses, about all i can come up with is to take all the stuff in the all containers in all the player's safe houses (at least the ones they gained access to) and put them in a crate in the Doc's house that only the player can acces (to avoid npcs from walking off with stuff), so they don't lose anything they stored or have to want till they regain access to where it was stored.

B would also allow people to go though the game different ways while not having to go though the hassle of making a new char from level 1 and give them a chance to do quests they may have missed their first time though.

So what do you all think about this? Good, bad, don't care?
