I asked this same question on the Q and A but haven't gotten an answer yet. As I said on that post, I have heard the number 4 thrown around with 2 difficulties where you unlock something; so 8 total, but as I also said, that could be Challenge types. What I mean by that is that they could have the type Parkour This with one Challenge on each of the maps or on some of the maps. Then you would have the other three types and those challenge types would have their actual challenge games. They may just have 4 with the 2 difficulties and you get 1 or 2 new things every time you complete one, so you have to repeat them. There may also be just the 8 and you unlock a ton of stuff for beating it once, but I really don't know. Personally, I'm hoping that there are 4 types and a bunch of challenges for each.

I've heard 12, but I'm not sure how official that is. I believe it was 4 types with 3 difficulties. That doesn't seem like enough to unlock all the guns and attachments to me. So it is possible information is missing.

this. we also know 2 of the challenges. one is an escort challenge (mostly for medics), the other is a parkour challenge.

I would guess the other 2 challenges have to do with destroying something or a survival type challenge or a recovery challenge.

For the types, does anyone have any clue as to what they are? I'm pretty sure I heard parkour/ time trials were one, so I would assume one of those for each level with three difficulties, and then the rest of these ideas are just my speculation/ ideas of what they might be

I heard that there was one where all you are is a medic (don't know if this is confirmed please correct if I am wrong thanks) and all you do is try to keep your team alive while they complete the objectives. I take this to mean that one of the types of challenges is class specific ones, so one type of challenge for each class (again with 3 difficulties for each)

Another type might be time trials, not like the race ones but like complete the objective in x amount of time again, one for each stage, and possibly one for each faction. I think I had heard that one of the modes was stop watch, but I'm not sure if that's still in or what again please correct me if I'm wrong

As for the 4th type I would just assume miscellaneous ones or something like that

one is a challenge only for medics

Fixed.

The escort challenge isn't an escort challenge. It's a "keep your team alive as long as possible" challenge, where you have to prioritise your healing and reviving appropriately to avoid letting your team get killed off.

well that seems a bit unfair doesnt it? why have a dedicated challenge to only medics when challenges are the way to unlock weapons and attachments.

What's unfair about it? Hopefully it will help people become more effective medics.

Because the proper prioritisation of healing is more difficult than finding the marked "blow this up" spot on a wall...

well i prefer to have specialized characters so i dont want to have to make a medic just to unlock something. but from my understanding SD is making the easier challenges unlock the most stuff so it prob wont matter since medics at lvl 1 can still revive players.

Considering the difficulty we're supposed to see on the level 3 parkour challenge, I'm expecting that the challenges will have preset characters rather than your customs - because trying to do a parkour challenge as a Heavy doesn't seem like a good idea to me any more than taking the Medic challenge without having any Medic kit.

That seems like a bummer to me, I'd at least like the option of doing them with my guy (since half the point of Brink is developing a guy) to see if he could do it.

Im fairly certain you will be able to use your own guy, theres really no good reason not to allow It.
Mabye your body type will get set for the parkour challenge, but honestly I think they will leave that up to the player.

Hey If you want to bash your head against the wall trying to do parkour challenge as a heavy, why stop you ?=D

agreed. seems to defeat the purpose of having your own character.

Well it is entirely baseless speculation about the challenges.

They could have multiple types. Some where you use preset characters, some where you use your own. Some of them might force a body type on you or a specific ability or build. Hell the medic ones might not require or even use anything beyond the basic medic abilities. There are tons of ways they can go with this and we really have no information on which way they went.

I will say that since some off the challenges(I believe the 2nd difficult, but I might be off kilter with that) can be done coop, it would lean to playing your own character. However I could very easily be wrong on that.
