Welcome to the forums. This needs to be moved to the "Construction Set Forum" for better results.

"refraction" doesn't sound like it would be a limit on max effect. Since refraction means essentially "bending light" it may only reduce the transparency.

Damn.. you might be right there.. if so how would i change it, i love chameleon, like getting it as high as possible, but theres no fun in being immortal..
with potions and items i'd love to get it upto 95% without fear of being imba seeing as potion strength changes as u level.

*edit* im about to start a new game, if this 95% trick doesnt work, im assuming removing it mid game wont have any effect being that if it doesnt work its deffinitly a graphical issue.

Correct. you can change that setting to your hearts content, and it won't hurt your savegame.

Spell effect limits might be hard coded. Not sure though. This isn't something I mess around with. Someone around here will know.

I don't want to hijack the post here, so can someone PM me about the transparency part of this thread? I'd like to know a little more about this.

i think i remember a mod that makes it so that if you have 100% chameleon, then the effect would change to invisibility and be removed for a set time when you tried to perform an action. I cannot remember the name of the mod though. It MIGHT have been Supreme Magicka.

EDIT: OK, supreme magicka allows you to limit chameleon to whatever value you want. if you use supreme magicka, you can edit it in the .ini.

ChameleonLimit
This setting allows you to set a maximum limit chameleon can affect your character. Set to 100% to disable this entirely. (Reccommended 95%)

if you don't want to use SM then you might be able to open it in the CS and take a look at how this is done.
