Chance None Question

Post » Sun Aug 08, 2010 7:29 pm

Sorry, noobishness, making first mod. Gotten this far at least..!

the "chance none" field on loot lists..is that per item? as in say..default is 80, does that mean 20% chance per item, or 20% chance to get ALL items? I'm thinking it's per item. I'm making more or less a personal mod that adds all schematics to a loot list..99% chance of not getting it is better than having to pay for it =) just wanted to make sure before I screw something up. Ugh.

Thanks.

edit edit: removed my first edit. figured it out..blah.

That chance none represents the chance that nothing will be slected for each use of the list. If there is a count of 5 per item with a 20% chance none, then 80% of the time you will get 5 items, 20% you'll get none. The way to do it per item is have the parent list call that list a number of times. Example:

List A has 5 Items of List B
List B has 1 Item and a 20% chance none.

That would yiel 5 attempt at an 80% chance of getting an item => .80 * 5 = 4 items (on average)

Ok I got it. So it's the chance of getting one of the items on the list, the number I'll get is set to the count.
Well, one of each schematic at 5% chance of actually getting it added some variety to the game =)
Thanks.
