I changed to EU - thoughts

Post » Sun Mar 30, 2014 7:43 pm

So something has been bothering me, Iv currently still using the Beta client patched up to now. I decided I would like to go to EU server and followed a step I have read out and about.

What I done is copied all my data files from the normal "The Elder Scrolls Online" folder and pasted them in the "The Elder Scrolls EU"

once doing that I opened the launcher it prompted me to start download, I stoped the download and hit the repair option and let it run it course. Afterwards getting the thumbs up everything is good.

My question is will this cause me any problems? have I corrupted anything along the way? anyone have any legit threads that can sort me right?

p.s THE HYPE

I was actually considering this since I tend to solo most of my stuff and the game world would theoretically be emptier on the EU server since I am in the US of Awesomeness. However the EU is filled with foreigners who speak in tounges so I didn't know if I would be able to understand them.

According to the Q&A from ESO...

This tells me that there will be an in game way of selecting which server [ even switching between the two ]. Unless there is an alternate method as stated from the OP.

I think all you need to do is go into the settings of the Launcher and select NA or EU. Nothing should have to download. I haven't tried it, but I saw the option to select either one.

Excellent job, my good man!

That is exactly where it is. This makes efficient means of access to all 16 characters, aside from aggravating formalities and potential fees. At least for now, as they plan to relocate the EU server or actually transfer to an actual EU server, I should say.

you switch in the launcher not in game, if you want to play characters on both servers youd be better off having both installs

Ahh... I see. Yes, that does make sense. Thus, the inquiry from the OP. He/she was trying to simply copy over the data, in lieu of having to re DL that massive thing.

... if I understand everything correctly, that is.

The deutsch speaking players were a big problem during the beta weekends.

They dont see a problem with using deutsch in the zone chats and they get upset when the rest of us complain about it.

Some more enlightened of them were using the DEzone thou, but these people need to be prompted to join this channel instead of the regular zone chat.

I dunno why people think its acceptable to talk in anything but english in the zone chat and I havent seen this much disregard for it since pre vanilla wow.

Try repairing after copying the files.

Welcome aboard.

iv done the repair's everything seems fine and for those wondering about the change server option in the launcher, it does not work atm ZOS have stated somewhere that is the reason why players are having to download the complete data to be able to change servers. If there is anyone who has also chosen my path please let me know if you have any problems
