So I think its safe ti say some people like myself who start their 2 play-through or 3rd or how ever many times have accidentally named their character wrong be in most case misspellings it and being Frustrated to find out that after spending a good time working on that character realizing that their name is misspelled which I'm sure no one like see their name is wrong on the load screen or In conversations. So my question is will Bethesda make it so we can change our names mid game cause I will be honest I don't like role playing a female character name Nate when I meant to give her the name Naoto. so what do you guys/gals think I like hear what other people think cause I'm sure not everyone wants to go and make the same character again just with a different name

That is one of the reasons I have made a separate save in all Bethesda games right before the prompt that asks if you want to change anything before proceeding, just so you can notice it not too far in the game and just reload that save.

I do know what you mean though, like say 100 hours into the game and you notice a mistake. Been there many times

I lost my ability to do that after fiddling with the save settings. Do you know what save you have to turn on for it to save at that point?

Its just a manual save. Save before approaching the vault platform.

I can't remember when a mod allowed you to change your name in MW, OB, FO3, NV or SR. In other words, modders can't do that or have no interest in it.

And Beth never added such a functionality either, and neither do most of other developers. it's common sense to double check your name before confirming it.

Lol D'oh guess I could do that as well though the first couple of times at reaching that point, it would save automatically right at that spot so when you loaded the game you were instantly put into that screen that lets you change everything which was especially handy for different characters. Doesn't seem to do that anymore after i messed with the saves options.

I know what you mean. I take great care to choose a name that fits my characters and pets in video games. I always name my female character in Fallout games "Geneva" and then I noticed there's a minor character in Diamond City with that name. Kinda takes the cachet away from my character. I wanted to rename her "Vienna" but no way to do so that I've found once you're too far into the game, even on PC.

You get two chances, as is.

I mean.. I suppose someone could make a mod, but if what Akul is saying is true, there isn't really much of a demand for it.
I have a feeling that Bethesda could implement more features than anyone has up to that point, and we would still have people saying, "I can't believe Bethesda didn't add [insert obscure feature] to this game."

Now.. aside from that. Let's say you get a reputation and are known by everyone as Gunther. You've decided you hate the name, but everyone knows you as Gunther. They're gonna call you Gunther. I suppose you could correct each and every person.. "No, see my name is Jachim now, understand?" But where does it all end? At some point, people will insist on calling you Gunther out of spite.

I'll just role play-role like that my character's parents hater her Settler "why is your Nate if your female" Me "MY PARENTS HATED ME"
