changing language

hello

first of all : i'm new to the forum, if this is an off topic, i apologize and please move it to the right forum.

i've bought the italian version of fallout new vegas. Since the translation has some really annoying errors i'd like to change the language to english. I've searched around and the only answer i've found is changing language in steam. I did it but now, when i start the game , i get an error message saying the game isn't available. There's a way to change the game language to english and , if so, how can i do it.
If i should buy dead money or other expansion how can i be sure to get them in english ?

thank you in advance for any hint

I don't know if there's an easy way to change the language of the game via Steam.

However it may work to exchange your .esm file with that of the english version, although that won't change audio only text.
And of course you first need someone with the english version that can send you the .esm.
Also it will probably only work until Steam updates New Vegas again.

I did it but now, when i start the game , i get an error message saying the game isn't available.

Just go and try starting it again. Steam now wants to download the english language files for you, but there was a problem when it tried to do it.

i've messed something up. I've changed steam's language, not game's language , which i've discovered later being settable by a context menĂ¹ which get activated right clicking the game icon.
Anyway i've restarted steam but it kept giving me the "game not available" error message, so i've rolled back the language to italian and restarted steam again to just have the same error message (but this time in italian :cryvaultboy: ) .
Finally i've checked the game cache integrity, as described in the hw/sw issues forums, and now it's downloading 2 GB (9 corrupted files :banghead: ).
Does anybody have already had this kind of problem?
