Changing the Suit Voice

Post » Sat Jan 01, 2011 9:59 pm

Now, this is NOT a hate thread on the voice at all. Personally, I love it. It works, it's fresh, a wonderful addition to the game as a concept, and overall badass (and makes me feel like one). However, I HAPPEN to prefer the suit voices from Crysis. I don't know, I've grown a sort of attachment to it, and while the suit voices in Crysis 2 are epic and I in no way want them turned OFF, I simply would like the option of switching voices. Do any techies out there know how to import the suit voices from Crysis to Crysis 2?

I understand the only announced voices are "Maximum armor" and "Cloaked engaged", so just having those replaced would be nice. I do have Crysis installed on my computer, so I have all the files, but not quite sure how to switch things around deep within the Crysis 2 files.

...And this is sort of asking for much, but is there a way to make the suit voices activate when a mode is activated, even if it isn't a toggle? By that I mean whenever I sprint it would say "Maximum Speed" or whenever I super-jump or super-punch, or even steady a sniper it says "Maximum Strength" (even if I'm in armor mode). I know that's kind of modding more than just a switch up of the files, but is this in any way possible?

Again, I hold no disdain for the Crysis 2 suit voices in any way, but one of the biggest little things about Crysis I loved was the suit voice. That voice actor/effect was genius.

Or the option to turn it off.

It annoys me when its tells me which power is active everytime. I mean, its easy enough to know when they're on. Like the honeycomb vision when armor is on, or the translucent suit effect when cloak is on. I dont need the the voice to tell me EVERYTIME.

Goddammit, SmokeCheeba. This isn't a hate thread. I love the voice, it's existence, and everything it says.
Female option? Eh, maybe, but that isn't the topic at hand.

Yes, that too. I mentioned that in my OP.

But again, this thread wasn't made for debate or whining as almost everyone on this forum does. It's a simple queston. Now, does anyone know anything about what I asked in the original post?

We definately need an option to adjust suit voice volume separately. The sooner the better crytek.

The option to turn it off was in the first game, along with the female voice. For those who DONT love the voice.

Well that's dandy Mr. Whinechild, but how many times must I repeat myself?
I love crytek. I have no problem with them. This thread is not about yammering to them about your problems. I Have a request for the Community, that is all. Everyone else just go somewhere else if you know nothing on the topic.

Having an option to turn it off applies to the thread title, so ya.
