Character Advice?

Post » Sun Jul 13, 2014 8:50 am

I'm going to be going for a Jango Fett build here soon, but I need some advice. I am on PS3, but I have that weapon DLC (with Katana) if that helps anything. No Mods.

1. I want to use some sort of Power Armor, like the Brotherhood of Steel armor, but I don't want it to be to bulky. Any suggestions?

2. I was debating whether or not to use the laser weapons, but I was wanting to know the biggest differences between them and the standard firearms.

3. Are there special gadgets I could use in the game? I know there's no jetpack, but that's what I would consider a gadget.

4. I know the implants you can get, but I was still told to not put my attributes at 9. But why not? I was told to put them on 8 at the max. Why would someone tell me that?

I don't think you are going to get a very good Star Wars experience in FONV.

NV is one of my favorite games to roleplay in but I've never tried a bounty hunter.

1. I'd go http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110210025018/fallout/images/c/cb/Ncr_ranger.jpg.It seems the most bounty hunter-ish

2. Theres a few things to consider. Do you like ash piles in your game? Or do you prefer to see chunks flying? Ontop of that, regular guns repair more easily. If you do decide on energy. Figure out if you'd rather use plasma or laser. Lasers fire faster but do less damage. Plasmas fire slower but deal more damage.

3. Aside from the pip boy, crafting benches, perks that give you interesting abilities, I can't think of any other unique gadgets that would help enhance your role playing experience.

4. Lean more about implants http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout:_New_Vegas_implants

You have to go laser over regular firearms.

I mean come on, http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/WESTAR-34_blaster_pistol

energy weapons and explosives would be a good start. As far as non-bulky power armor the least bulky I can think of is Enclave remnants Armor. If you have the Lonesome Road DLC the elite riot gear might be a good fit.

Laser weapons would be best. The standard Laser Rifle is a good all around weapon. The Gauss Rifle would be a good sniper rifle and fitting for Jango Fett. Close range the GRA Tri-Beam laser rifle would be excellent.

I suggest going for maximum critical chance with this character. Take the traits "Built to Destroy" and "Fast Shot" as the first gives you 3% more critical chance which may not seem like much but it can be multiplied by weapon crit chance multipliers, and the second gives you a great fire rate boost while the penalty isn't much of an issue given the tight spread of laser weapons. .025 spread times 1.2 is still a really tight spread.

Go for high luck. You want to max it out eventually. 1 point can come from the implant, while the rest can either come from the intense training perk (if you can afford to take it over other stuff) or you can gain 1 point by beating lonesome road, but that will be very far down the road.

This thread can give you some pointers : http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1466659-energy-weapon-critical-build-ii/

I also mentioned explosives because Jango and Boba Fett both liked explosives. They are also great for taking out crowds, or staging traps with mines.

Edit: Oh, and I just remembered that you should look into the unique laser pistol "Pew Pew"

Spoiler
it does a lot of damage per shot, and was used by a bounty hunter like character. You can get it by collecting 50 sunset sarsaparilla caps that have blue stars in them, and then pay a visit to the old Sunset Saraparilla factory in outer vegas.

Thanks guys! I'll either do this or a John Marston build.

The Ranger helmet looks fitting, but the duster coat is a no-go. Maybe some Enclave or Brotherhood armor will do for now. And energy weapons seem fitting I suppose.
