Character apparel customization in Skyrim?

Post » Sat Dec 26, 2009 12:32 pm

Morrowind Style. I want more customization but I dont want my armory and inventory to be so cluttered.

Also, I want hooded cloaks and robes, as well as capes. (Ezio Style)
And I want be able to wear animal pelts draqed on my shoulders or even as a small cape. Basically I want to make http://assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/File:Armour_of_Romulus.jpg(minus the Hidden Blade)

Morrowind's the best level I feel. The ability to wear individual pieces or armor, including different gauntlets, grieves and pauldrons as well as 'civilian' clothing underneath/ontop created excellent apparel customisation.

But then I got High. -Very High!

The MOST important aspect of the game is specifically to be able to play with exactly the type of character you want: otherwise it is hack and slash.

Theirs probably going to be 100+ cape mods after the release of Skyrim but it would make a nice addition to my ranger outfit but they could go 50/50 half Morrowind level of customization half Daggerfalls unlikely but possible

I want SOOOOOO MUCH CUSTOMOISATION!!!!

I want to be able to wear shirts and pants, and over that I want to be able to wear greaves, armour or jackets of some kind, or an overshirt thing, and over that I want belts, and over that I want robes, and... yeah, just everything. And I want to be able to wear sashes and leg bandages, because they're cool.

I really really really really hope it's nothing like Fallout. Fallout's options were dumbed down to just outfit and helmet. If the customization is that dull in Skyrim I'm not buying the game... I'll rent it, maybe.

Edit:
I'll but it for PC and mod it so it's more diverse :P haha

I'd like the character customization to be a little more unique than Oblivion, but not by much. The only thing that irked me about oblivion was that if you didn't want your character's armor to be deficient, they all ended up the exact same. Every single character I had wore glass armor, the end. To the point that I ended up wondering which character was which.

I don't necessarily mind that the armor has a hierarchy to it, but what I WOULD like to see is maybe different sets of armor. Maybe three different "sets" of glass armor that all have the same stats, but look different or are a different color. That way I can pick what I want for my character without feeling guilty about it.

More is not always better, but I agree that oblivion streamlined too much. I'd prefer different skills for axe and blunt weapons for example.

So, we can all agree that we want AT LEAST separate; shoulders, boots, gloves, and cuirass. and we'd love cloaks and capes. Right?

In my perfect dreamworld the character and outfit options would be as diverse and versatile as the customization for All Points Bulletin ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcvo1aVETmM/http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3I4amLD5Hbs ), which I'll admit is completely insane, but hey- a guy can dream, right. Ideally, I'd have the clothes customization available via tailors and dyers, where you could choose various styles and colours, gradients, trims, etc. and then just mix and match. It's included in APB, so I know it's possible, but it's probably way too much to ask for.

But I really did love the way you could wear your clothes in different ways in DF. Cape hanging over both shoulders or slung over one or both, hood up, down, shirt undone to various degrees and so on. It was just awesome and added the ability to express some attitude via the way you wore your outfit.

I'm surprised by the votes.

I still think Daggerfall was the best, but I also know that 2D and no 3rd person view made a few things easier.

if it was in anyway possible on current gen games to have the level of customization as DF, then HELL YEAH.

sadly people comparing a game that uses 2d animated billboards to detailed 3d skeletal animation driven characters and thinking the same kind of things are possible are either deluded or have no idea the massive difference in the 2 things I just mentioned
