Character Creation

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 8:02 am

Hello All,
I would like to know, the main thing i am looking to get answered is, when you go to create a character you only get 3 eye colors to start out and only a few select hairstyles, is there a way to get more eye colors, or hair styles etc. for the human based races? What i'm asking is, is there maybe a program that a person can download, because i'm not that adept at modifying things in the main program?

There are a number of mods for both hair and eyes on TES Nexus.

Yes. Assuming that you're on a PC.

If you go http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/cat.php?id=26, you can find far more hair, eyes and face mods than you'll ever need.

The biggest problem with most of them though is that they're mutually exclusive-- if you run one hair mod, then you can't use any others, since whichever one is last to be loaded overwrites all the rest.

I use http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15353, just because it has the two best sets of hair (corean and ren's) plus a few others, plus four alternate eye colors. But unless you also want freckled Bretons or know how to get rid of them if you don't want them, then I wouldn't suggest it.

There's another good combo without the freckles, but also without any other eye choices, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13399.

And I would be willing to bet that there are other combo mods out there, but you'd probably have to get the people on the mod forum involved to find out what the latest and greatest are.

Speaking of which-- that's where this thread should probably be.

And once you find one that seems good, we can get into how to install it. :D

Yes, pop over to the mods forum and read the pinned threads at the top on how to find, install mods - some great info there.

Gpstr's advice is good. And yes, the best hair mods are by corian and ren in my opinion too.

I use a cosmetic mod called CCR -EE. It is all tightly wrapped up in an omod (for OBMM installation) and combines about 6 hair mods with about 6 eye mods with a facial textures mod and deconflicts them all. Someday when I grow up and figure out how to install and use Wrye Bash (next PC probably - next summer) I can do better. In the meantime what I have works great and is quite simple: Install OBMM, install CCR-EE.
